1970 Dodge Challenger

1970 Dodge Challenger factory 318 car (JH23G0B147xxx) it was a manual shift either a 3 speed or a 4 speed factory car (last owner had a 440 in it).   The Challenger has front disc brakes. manual steering. factory bucket seats. 8 ¾ rear end and 3. 91 posi diff. . original door VIN decal (build date 10-1969). appears to have been a factory EK2 Vitamin C orange car. Rallye gauge cluster with factory tach. Challenger flip-up gas cap. Go-wing. Rallye wheels with newer Cooper Cobra tires (245/60-14). chrome LH and RH mirrors and black trunk stripe.

I'm offering the Challenger for sale with no engine or transmission. Please be aware of this for transportation and shipping purposes.   

The Challenger was restored about 8 years ago and then sat in the garage as it had engine problems on the break in period.   It is missing the fender tag and no build sheet but all of the sequential body numbers match on the radiator support. hood/cowl area. VIN tag. and door VIN decal.   Some new items put on when it was restored are front and rear bumpers. front windshield. go-wing. complete side marker lens kit. LH and RH chrome mirrors. door handles. trunk trim chrome piece. chrome flip-up gas cap. front and rear door panels. Challenger side emblems. wheel lip moldings. weatherstripping on the doors and roof rail. throttle cable. span >  headliner and restored original grill.

PAINT AND BODY

The body and sheet metal are very nice and was not a rusted out 1970 Challenger.   The sheet metal is in nice shape with newer quarters being the only metal work done that I can see.   The trunk extensions. trunk floor. frame rails. floor pans and doors all appear to be original to the car.   The Challenger was painted Yellow about 8 years ago with base coat/clear coat and is in not bad condition for sitting this entire time.   There are a few flaws in the paint but over all it is very presentable.   There are paint blisters on the very lower quarter on the drivers side between the rear tire and door. The other blisters are on the passenger side fender 3 or 4 on the top near the antenna and 1 all the forward near the hood pin area.   There is one spot where the paint lifted on the rear window lower corner seam on the drivers side between the window and trunk lid about a 5” area.   The floor pans where wired wheeled to show how clean and original they are.  The Challenger would make a great driver the way it is or fixed the couple areas to make it extremely nice!  The paint has a very good shine to it and would look really impressive if wet sanded and buffed.   It is overall a pretty straight car and the panels line up very nice!   Please call me at 412-496-1439 and I will be happy to discuss all the details!  GLASS. CHROME AND TRIM

The glass is in very good condition with only a few very minor marks.   The front windshield is newer.   The original Chrysler side and rear glass is in very nice condition and only has a few very minor scratches.   The rear window regulator on the passenger side will need repaired.   The front bumper and rear bumpers were rechromed and look very good for 8 years old.   The original grill was restored and looks great.        

INTERIOR

The interior has some newer stuff including the headliner. speaker shelf. trunk divider. door panels (front and rear). sill plates and kick panels.   The dash pad appears to be factory and in very nice shape.   The Rallye gauge cluster is in ok shape but should be redone to be perfect.   The rear seat is black and in perfect shape.   The front buckets are complete with tracks. hindge covers and plastic backs but will need recovered.        

SUSPENSION

The front/rear suspension was done by the previous owner and was just checked over and is nice and tight.   The 8 ¾ rear end has a 3. 91 posi differential (741 case #) and has newer Moser axles with the green bearings.  The Challenger will need a gas tank and tank straps.
