Falling into the rarest of the rare category. true collectors will certainly fall in love with this Super Rare 1935 Plymouth Dual Purpose Commercial Sedan ( aka sedan delivery ).
Designed for the traveling business man. the dual purpose sedan came with a removable rear seat. side windows with roll down cranks. and armrests. After a weekend with the family. the business man merely removed the rear seat. laid down the floor like current wagons do. and placed the company logo side panels in the convenient side window clips to advertise the company.
According to the owner. deep research has determined that this is likely the ONLY period correct one left in existence. All red oak wood has been re-done and the sedan has gone through a 17 year restoration with over 4. 00 hours devoted to the process. The present owner says that the brakes. including shoes. lines. wheel cylinders. and master cylinder are new as is the fuel pump. An optional factory right tail light was added for safety.
This fine classic has won over 300 trophies in 4 states. and has also won best of show at the prestigeous Stan Hywet Invitational. The base/clear paint is the original Palm Beach Gray and black colors. These were the colors of the National Cash Register Corporation. In 1935. these were all painted black except that a company could order one painted in their company colors. as did the NCR Corporation. This vehicle was formerly owned by NCR of Hutchinson. KS.
I am assisting the owner in the sale of this rare collector vehicle and have relied on his vast knowledge regarding the research on this vehicle. I have looked it over carefully. watched it being driven. seen it at various shows. looked under the vehicle. and came up with just a couple of small paint cracks on the left front fender as shown in the pictures. All else looks very nice including frame. supports. floors. interior. etc. This RARE vehicle would make a handsome addition to any serious collector's collection.

I know that some refer to this as a sedan delivery, but yours actually looks a little shorter than the Commercial Sedans I've seen recently. BTW, it's really nice and the color combo is just what I was looking for.
