Chrysler NEW Yorker 1960 for sale
Current customer rating: (547 votes ) based on
Here is a car with ‘WOW' factor. plus it is perhaps one of the best driving US cars ever!
‘Stock' but ‘custom' and ‘fun' however super safe and super great to use either daily or on Rod Runs and cruises.
Never considered or heard of one? Well a few facts:
413 Golden Lion motor – same family as legendary 426 Hemi
Chrysler torsion bar front suspension – years ahead of GM in relation to how great. safe and fast you can drive.
Chryslers legendary 3 speed Torqueflight Automatic – no revs needed to blow off even modern traffic
This is a black plated genuine CA car. It has had a bare metal re-spray in Australia. has been re-trimmed. re-carpeted. new brakes and exhaust. new tyres. completely new head lining. new rear springs etc – completely refurbished!
It features many other new components - too many to list (I was doing this car for my own personal collection. so no expense was spared!)
Features: push button automatic. power brakes. power steer. power windows . superb engine bay. 413 Golden Lion V8
'60 New Yorkers were Chryslers Cadillac equivalent – power windows. power steering etc
The ‘Custom' part:
(a) Knockout custom colour that upgrades from factory lavender the car was
(b) Custom interior – high quality fabrics by top trimmer
With a 60 New Yorker no further ‘custom' needed. This car was done for keeps. big dollars spent.
In 1960. Chrysler introduced unibody (unitized body) construction. thus making the company first of the Big Three to offer it. Unibody was standard in all Chrysler products except for the Imperial. This gave the body more rigidity and less rattles. and would soon become an industry standard.
THIS CAR HAS THE LARGEST FINS EVER PUT ON A CHRYSLER !! IT WAS DONE TO HOPEFULLY CASH IN ON THE SUCCESS OF THE KING OF FINS
THE 59 CADILLAC.
ANOTHER THING TO NOTE: THESE WERE PRODUCED IN LIMITED NUMBERS APROXIMATLY 2740. VERY FEW SURVIVED THE 70'S AS MOST WERE WRECKED FOR THE MOTOR AND TRANS WHICH HOT RODDERS WANTED FOR THE POWER AND RELIABILITY.
HAS SALES BROCHURE AND ADVERTS INCLUDED. AND SOME OF THE ORIGINAL CA REGO DOCUMENTS
