1986 Toyota 4Runner for sale
Current customer rating:
I'm selling my first generation 4 runner because I bought a new truck (also a Toyota :)). I have done a lot of repairs and spent a lot of time in this vehicle. but it's just sitting in a warehouse in queens and I don't have time for it.
The good: This vehicle has a fully and professionally rebuilt motor ($2. 00) by S&S Speed in Queens. NY - it is not the original motor as the original blew a tensioner and bent all the valves. The motor is still under warranty. and has only about 2 K miles on it. The rest of the vehicle is either factory or based on factory specs - no crazy modifications. Other parts I replaced:
Cat back stainless steel exhaust Brake hoses Rear wheel cylinders Old Man Emu MD Suspension - shocks. leaf springs. steering dampener BF Goodrich AT KO 31" Tires (including a spare)Power Steering Pump Windshield Vacuum hoses Window Tints AC compressor converted to r 134
The bad:The rear window key switch works intermittently (the cabin switch works properly)Needs rear wheel bearings Under the dash leaks in the rain (probably a clogged cowl - no time to confirm)When it gets to temperature. it runs in a lean condition - two mechanics speculate it's because the cam shaft I had installed was too big and the ECU doesn't recognize the cam profile. This causes a bucking type sensation. which never stopped me from daily driving it on Long Island. Torn driver seat. cracked dash Small rust spot and dent as seen in photos - the rust was repaired by the PO with bondo but could easily be cut out and repaired nicely
Other than that this vehicle is from Colorado with hardly any rust for a vehicle this age. I've seen two year old vehicles with more rust than this one. I've gone to great lengths and pains to keep it that way including keeping it in a temp controlled garage and undercoating it with Fluid Film. It is a great base for a project or overlanding vehicle.
The last "buyer" was fraudulent according to e Bay. This truck is my baby and will go to a legit buyer. I'm happy to answer any questions. If you message me and are interested in talking I will give you a phone number where you can reach me. The truck for sale as is. and is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks for looking.
