is the name for the Toyota Land Cruiser 40 series made from 1960 until 1994 in Brazil. The 40 series Land Cruisers were built as 2 door SUVs that were just slightly larger than a Jeep CJ.
The model was available as the FJ 40 series and also BJ 40/41/42 short wheel base BJ 43/44/46 middle wheel base or HJ 45/47 long wheel base designed where it had a Diesel engine.
Land Cruisers built in Brazil from 1968 to 1993 - with Mercedes-Benz engines - received OJ 40/45 (OJ 50/55 from 1973) series chassis codes and those built from 1994 to 2001 - with Toyota engines - have BJ 50/55 series model codes.
This is a super rare factory Diesel legally imported from Brazil that is now located in Oceanside. CA.
Diesels are so rare here in the US because they weren't originally sold in the US.
Anyone who has a diesel had it imported from outside the US.
This is the reason why the diesels are worth more than the gas FJ 40 s.
The diesel engines are highly desirable because they are better than the gas because they easily go to 500. 00 miles and average 33 mpg.
