The Dodge Dart debuted in 1960 and was somewhat a down size of a large car.  It encompassed everything a large car did but was a little more efficient and versatile.  It wasn't long for the Dart to become a victim of the muscle car craze because with almost any size v8 it became a rocket because it was so light.  And for those who lived by the words. "IT'S MOPAR OR NO CAR!!" meant that enthusiasts made the Dart run the line with all the muscle heads and never backed down from Any Chevy. Pontiac. or Ford.  That's why today they are so popular and collectible.  Our 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger offered here today started its life as a pretty loaded up 318 v8 car with a/c and rear window defogger.  But now will live out its life as an eye catching. devil sounding muscle car which is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.  Please read on to find out all about this vehicle and view all the photos and video down at the bottom.  Let us know of any questions you may have.  Thank you!!
Exterior:
The exterior of this vehicle is very eye catching.  It was repainted. we believe. a Dodge Truck color from around 2009.  When the sun hits it. it really explodes with color.  It is definitely driver quality and up close can be nit picked.  We wet sanded. cut it and compounded and laid down a nice polish which did it major justice. but still is driver quality.  It has some dings and chips and bubbles but still presents well.  Again. driver quality.  If you're looking for a high end restoration for this kind of money. please move on.  All the glass is clear and the lights work.  The bright work does shine but its original and for the 43 years its been on the road it does show some haze and pitting.  The centerline wheels are fairly new along with the tires.  The floor is solid and the trunk pan is solid too.  Along with the frame. all solid.  There are some very minor rust bubbles at the bottom of each door.  Please see in the pictures.  Soooo. all in all. a nice. sharp looking car that would turn heads at any local show or cruise night but not going to win any awards for best of show.  Please let us know of any questions you may have.  
Interior:
The interior is very presentable and 90% original.  There are no rips in the seats and the dash has no cracks(very hard to find a dash pad with no cracks).  The door panels are original and show well for its age.  Most of the gauges work along with the speedometer but not the gas gauge.  All after market gauges work fine.  Some of the wiring could be cleaned up under the dash but all functions.  Windows roll up and down with little to no effort and it looks like the weather stripping was replaced some time ago.  The headliner was redone.  Not with its original fabric and presents ok.  The carpet appears to be original and actually presents well.  Could be cleaned up and sharpened up but a great start in its current state.  Please look at the pictures and video.
Drive-Train:
The original 318 v8 was removed and a 5. 9 litre 360 cubic inch engine was put in its place.  Said to be from a mid 70's truck.  The engine was rebuilt . 30 over and has forged pistons. steel crank. comp cam and some head work.  It has an aluminum Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor.  The previous owner said the trans is a 727 but we don't know how to tell. however its been completely rebuilt and has a B&M slap stick shifter with reverse lock out.  It feels like a stall converter is in there too.  Maybe a 3000 speed.  But not sure.  There rear is an 8 3/4 rear with 3. 73 gears.  Its a posi rear and if you let it. it would roast the rear tires.  We've driven the car around town and on the highway with no trouble.   No it does not give you a soft luxurious ride. in fact I don't think these cars ever did. however. do not expect something its not.  All tires are fairly new and belts and hoses are all road worthy.  It does have headers and flowmasters that dump before the rear axle.  Exhaust pipes and mufflers are fairly new.  The drive train we are told have about 3000 miles on it and we put about 70 miles on it just having fun.  Let us know of any questions.

We can not stress it enough.  If you're a nit picker and expect perfection for this amount of money. please move on.  If you understand the value in these cars and expect a car to be a bit picky for this price. by all means please let us know of any questions.  Its hard to find cars in this condition for this price. trust me. we've been around the block and spend plenty of time researching. traveling. test driving etc.  Appreciate what is being offered here and view all the photos and videos.  Thank you so much for visiting.  We welcome anyone to come and drive the car before making an offer.
