You are looking at a RARE 1970 Porsche 914-6 Targa.

For those who do not know. this rare car came with the legendary flat-six out of the 911T.   It was consigned by who we believe to be the second owner. He has had this car since 1971 or 1972. and babied this car. As a retired attorney and member of the PCA. he knew how to take care of these cars and owned a number of them over the years. at 90+ years old. he has decided it is time to part with his pride and joy. This Porsche 914-6 was the owner's cherished possession and has been extremely well kept. It has been garage stored and well maintained. This car appears to be completely stock. Note that it has the original seats. seat covers. engine. body panels and some original paint. It also has extremely low miles.  

The suspension is a factory combination of a 911-type torsion bar front suspension with a rear coil spring suspension. The 914/6 was short lived with only 3360 examples produced between 1970 and 1972. All featured the 2. 0 liter flat-six engine. In 1970 Porsche entered a 914/6 GT in the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans race. It finished 6th overall and won its class. This was only one chapter in the vehicle's extensive racing career. which continues even to this day.

Cosmetically. it appears to have had some paintwork but believe the colors. body panels. engine. transmission. gauges and accessories to be original. It sports a black interior and we believe the miles to be original.

Mechanically. this runs surprisingly well but does need a tune up. and probable carb cleaning from sitting. The car drives and shifts well through all the gears. It drives straight down the road. and the steering is tight. The car does not rattle. and it was a pleasure to drive. However. there is paper coming out of the vents from storage. the tires do have some cracking. and we are sure there will be other issues just from the years of storage. We did not do a leak down test and the bottom of the car is oily from storage. We did put a new battery in the car and had the oil changed by a local Porsche mechanic before it was started. The gas also should be run out or drained.

This vehicle is really an outstanding original for the age. We were shocked to see the original seat material. low miles. and the straight panels on this rare car. It does have small dings and marks from age as shown in the photos. We have the original wheels and caps as shown in the photos that are included with the car. There are 5 original wheels and 5 Fuchs wheels in total. Also note the manuals. toolkit and other accessories and parts as shown.

As with any classic car. we cannot warranty any parts and as with most vintage vehicles. they are always a project in some way. Please note this before bidding if you are looking for a vehicle that will operate like a new vehicle. Collector cars are many times tempermental and reliability can be a factor on some. We also did not test each accessory or feature. and only drove the vehicle for a short distance. Also note there are marks and dings from use and age. including the front bumper as shown.

Any of these should be trailered to their destination until the vehicle is checked over for safety (tires. etc). The title is free and clear. and we are also requiring a bill of sale be signed by the new owner stating this car is being purchased as-is.

It is a very straight car as you can see in the photos. The colors are great and it is very stately. It would make a great addition to your collection.
