1979 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser with 53,860 ORIGINAL miles

This beautiful land cruiser is nearly all stock (see maintenance below). The engine is completely all original and has the original smog equipment still in tact which is very rare. It comes with 2 half doors. extended bikini top. 2 full hard doors. ambulance doors and a hard top. All of which are in great condition. but the interior fabric of the hard top is sagging (most do).  We repainted the cruiser 2 years ago but did not repaint the hard doors so the greens do not match identically. It didn't bother us because once they were removed they have been stored in our barn.   Since the cruiser is only driven in sunny weather in the summer we have not had any reason to ever put them back on.   We repainted with a great quality paint which you do not have to wax. so it cleans up great with soap and water! We are the 3rd owners of this vehicle. The original owner from Colorado purchased to haul their Christmas trees and occasionally to do some chores around their property. It was driven until 2001 and sold with 44. 00 miles on it. It was then sold to a teacher in Colorado in which he put an additional 2300 miles on it. We have owned it since 2006 and have put around 7000 miles on it where it resided in Vermont. We have kept a log book since we purchased it and every mile is logged. every gas up. trip etc. See maintenance we have performed below. We use it in the summer to just go for drives on beautiful days. It is garaged year round.  The under carriage is in great condition. There is no rust on the attachment points.   This cruiser had the typical rust in the rear quarter panels but this was cut out and new metal was rolled using land cruiser forms and then welded back in before it was repainted.   My goal was to keep the original paint on the cruiser and only retouch the rear quarter panels but we couldn't get a perfect match so reluctantly I had it all painted.   I'm very happy with the way this cruiser turned out and looks but I really like 100% stock with is hard to find now days. This is as close as you get with the exception of the paint.   This is the 5th FJ40 I have had and I would not be selling this beauty if I wasn't tying to finance a new addition to my house.   Mechanically all the fluids have been replaced and it runs like new. The gas tank can only be filled half way due to some corrosion where the sending unit goes into the top of the tank.   Its been like that for a few years and I only fill it half way it its fine.   I planned on replacing it at some point. All else works perfectly and it doesnt need any repairs. There are 2 rips in the original seats on the driver seat. The passenger seat is perfect. We do have seat covers on the cruiser that will be sold with it.  It has never been in any known accidents. This Landcruiser is beautiful and one of a kind. What you see is what you get. MAINTENANCE we have performed since we purchased (aside from oil changes and basic maintenance): June 15 2006- 4 new super swamper tires.   August 15 2008- New fuel pump. new fuel filter. August 30. 2008 rebuilt carburetor. June 2011- Body work: New fenders. running boards and the rear quarter panels before it was repainted as described above.  Full exterior paint. rear inside paint. Replaced windshield. tail lights. master cylinder.
