This is a frame-off custom built 1968 Lotus Elan S4. The restoration goal was to build a fun. exciting. and reliable car from the ground up. It has new modern day wiring and electronics for reliability. including a modern radio with CD and USB. It has race inspired suspension for those spirited drives and a performance drive train that your local AutoZone has parts for. No more special ordering and waiting weeks for those engine parts. It has a SPYDER spaceframe chassis. The SPYDER chassis eliminates chassis flex that's common with the original sheet metal chassis. The rear suspension has many upgrades. It has been upgraded from the MacPherson strut to double A-Arms. The race inspired SPYDER made A-Arms have adjustable heim joints. The Quaife limited slip differential has been upgraded with Porsche CV Joints and Half Shafts. No more crazy half shaft rubber donuts as on the original cars. The front suspension has also been upgraded with similar race inspired SPYDER made A-Arms with adjustable heim joints. An upgraded sway bar was also added. There are adjustable SPAX shocks on all four corners. New adjustable coil over springs can also be used to set the ride height to your driving style. The massive wheels are high dollar 3-piece construction with polished aluminum outers and inners with Magnesium centers. They were just reconditioned with new seals and paint. The rear wheels are wrapped with the classic BF Goodrich T/A Radials in the 235-13 size. while the fronts are wrapped again in the same classic BF Goodrich T/A Radials but in the 215-13 size. These tires and wheels are extremely rare and next to impossible to find nowadays. Backing up the balanced and blue printed Ford 2000cc motor is a new close ratio Quaife 4-speed transmission. The motor was run in and tuned on an engine dynamometer. The engine build sheets are available. The big 2000cc motor has the torque and horsepower that will bring a smile to all who experience it. The high capacity multi core aluminum radiator keeps it nice and cool even in our hot Arizona summers. It would be happy going down the road in rush hour traffic or those fun track days. The flip up headlights were modified to 26R cowled front headlights. Modified wheel arches help cover up the 235 and 215 wheel rubber. The body was prepped with epoxy primer then a Race Red Pearl two stage clear coat paint was applied. It passes the dollar bill reflection test (look it up if you don't know it). The interior is all new. The seats were done to match the original look. however additional foam was added to give a bit more support for those quick turns and long mountain drives. All new custom interior panels were fabricated and professionally covered to match the upholstery and carpeting. A new Burly Maple dash was fabricated with a custom fiberglass glove box. The dash was fabricated from thicker wood that adds stiffness across the cockpit. The car was rebuilt using modern day technology and materials to eliminate many of the original Elan's issues.  It would be just as happy at a track day or driving around town or those long weekend get a ways. The fit. finish and build quality would do well at car shows but the focus was on performance and reliability. The restoration was just completed. The motor only has the engine Dynamometer time on it. If you are looking for a new custom built car that is built to be driven and look awesome while doing it then this is your ride. The car is ready for immediate  delivery worldwide.
