1976 Toyota Land Cruiser

Selling my 1976 Toyota BJ40 Land Cruiser.  
This cruiser is a 24v system and probably originated in Europe. It is left-hand-drive (the correct side for us in the States) and fully. legally imported through US Customs. It can be registered in all 50 states including California as it is exempt from their CARB regulations.  
Since owning this vehicle. I have done lots of work:

Realize that this is a diesel and not a gas-powered FJ. The differences are huge. A diesel will out climb and out tow any of the gas counterparts. However. it is much slower.  Not a highway type vehicle. top speed is probably about 50mph.  
HeadturningBe prepared for lots of conversations. I took it out today after getting the new tires on it and was stopped three times by people wanting to talk about it. If you don't wanna talk to folks. you may want to get a Jeep Wrangler or something normal. But if you're looking for the perfect off-road vehicle. then this is the vehicle for you.
Condition notesThe vehicle is the original color but has been repainted. So it is not the original paint. There aren't any rusted through spots that I have found and the doors. floors and tub seem to be in really good condition. Realize that it is 41 years old though and it is not a show car. Those go for 2-3 times this amount.  
The vehicle is in my garage in Idaho. It is fully imported.  I haven't registered it in Idaho because if I get a buyer in California they would have trouble re-registering it there.  CA has some funky rules. I do guarantee that you will be able to register in any state in the US.  
ShippingShipping is up to you. eBay offers a shipping service where they bid out the shipping to different. trusted shippers. I will cooperate and coordinate with any shipping company you use.
PaymentWinning bidder must pay $500 within two days of the auction end. After that. balance is due within a week.  
Other InformationThis auction isn't for everyone. If you're looking for a cheap FJ40. then you should check out other auctions here on eBay. This auction is for someone who knows that they want a diesel Toyota Land Cruiser. Buyers know that these are extremely rare as they were NEVER imported into the US by Toyota.  All of the diesels that are here are gray-market vehicles.  This means that individuals like me did all the hard work of finding them. exporting them. and importing them here. That work is expensive and time-consuming which pushes these prices higher. An FJ in similar condition will be $8000 less than these are.  But they don't get 25mpg like this does.
