Here we have a opportunity to own a rare 4WD classic. if your looking at this listing im sure I have no need explain the rally history of these cars and how ahead of its time it was.
So a short history I bought this Celica back in October 2011 from Kent for a weekend project. It had been stood for some years before then rotting away. it looked in far better condition than it was in reality. I set too and stripped it down revealing a great deal of rust. the floor pan required a fair amount of time to repair in its self. The shell was sent off to be media blasted to remove the paint and show the true extent of the rust damage. I slowly cut out the rust and replaced the metal. making the repair to the floor as original looking as I could. Slowly i painted all the suspension component and underside with POR-15 to prevent further rusting. Replaced all the brake and fuel lines. The brakes were overhauled with new discs and pads. I also fitted a set of coil-overs to replace the original rotten struts and springs. The engine was stripped. cleaned. new piston rings and steel head gasket fitted. and finally painted.  I fitted a new clutch and cambelt at the same time. The car was painted in Toyota "168" Metallic Grey apposed to the red it was originally. just to try and make it a little more unique. I found some 16" Speedline alloys to replace the original 14" factory fits . I took it for MOT in march this year and it passed no problems and has been on the road since April.
I have spent a lot of time and money to get this on the road but just haven't been able to bond with it and feel right in it as sad as that sounds. its a great car to drive and turns heads but just lacks something. I think its all due to having the later ST205 GT-Four before I find its too hard to take a step back in performance.
I wont go into great detail I think ive given a fair picture but if interested I have approximately 500 pictures detailing the restoration. and a full thread of the restoration can be found on the CelicaClub forum under "Project 165"
This car is by no means perfect despite its restoration. the paint has cracked in a couple of places one being the notorious sunroof which I tried to repair but appears the filler has shrunk a little leaving a crack. this could be easily stripped back again or alternatively source a replacement. The interior could do with a bit of work. and some times when left a bit after running it doesnt fire straight away other than that it fires up first time when cold or immediately after being running and never misses a beat and pulls well. The Air conditioning needs looking at. it was re-gassed and worked grand but recently has stopped working. The power steering pipe has started to leak also. another common fault just not had chance to replace it. The temperature gauge on the dash doesnt work but I have a digital one fitted temporary. till I could source a donor dash to get it working.  Essentially and most importantly the shell is rust free which is hard to find. Also the Private plate is included in the sale.
With a little bit more work on finishing touches. this would be a great car to go to the shows with or just play with as a weekend toy. It would be nice to see someone enjoy this car.

Ive tried by best but any questions please ask. Viewing could be arranged if seriously interested.
Cash on Collection.
Finally serious bidders only. you bid to buy. Please dont waste my time as im sure you would not want yours to be.  Sold as seen. no returns and no warranty given. Its a 25 year old car remember!

Hi there

Apologies, I didn't realise there was a queries box when I made the offer.

All I was wondering was if the vehicle is still for sale, as I am quite interested in it.

Thanks,
River.
