Current customer rating: (505 votes ) based onFor Sale is a 1966 Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi automatic. Car was originally a 383 car. The engine. transmission. K-member. front suspension. disc brakes. and rear springs are from a '69 R/T.

Mileage
Speedometer was broken when we bought the car. and has been replaced. Actual miles are unknown.
Engine
-Block and heads have never been cracked
-Less than 1000 miles on complete rebuild
-Original hard surface crank never damaged or resurfaced
-Original cam and solid lifters with 33. 00 miles
-Running on zinc additive oil
-All new rod. main. and cam bearings
-New stock compression pistons are . 030 over bore
-Heads and machine work by Ostrich Racing Engines
-New hard valve seats and wide lash caps
-Original '69 carbs and manifolds
-Minor oil leak from oil pump (bolt?)
-New chain and gears. water pump. and oil pump. Rebuilt fuel pump
-No heat riser components or tubes
-New aluminum radiator with twin electric fans
-3/8-inch fuel line and sender
-Old exhaust system with glass-pack muffler
Transmission
-'69 Hemi Torqueflite. Numbers match engine
-Less than 1000 miles on all new friction and soft parts
-Original 5-disc clutch and wide band
-After-market transmission cooler
Rear Axle
-8. 75 sure grip with 4. 10 ring and pinion
Power Steering. Power Brakes and Suspension
-'69 4-piston front disc
-Less than 1000 miles on stainless steel sleeved calipers. master cylinder and wheel cylinders
-Front suspension and rear springs from '69 Hemi R/T
-Suspension and steering wear items replaced and in good condition
-Fresh steering sector with power steering
Wheels
-17 inch aluminum slots
-Low profile tires (rear new. front good)
Body
-Never any rust holes in floors. trunk or engine compartment
-Minor rust behind wheels repaired in 1976
-Rear quarters. deck lid. top and hood are very straight. Amateurish dent repairs on sides of doors and fenders. done in the 70s.
-Glass all original. and average or better. Some scratches and flaws.
-Weatherstripping all original. Could stand to be replaced
-Original paint in door jams. trunk jams. and underside of hood and deck lid
-Engine compartment painted in 1976 during original Hemi conversion
-Photo shows worst paint chips on the car. above the right roof drip rail
-Photos show worst paint paint and panel condition on the car. which is the lower rear portion of the right front fender. behind tire (blistering paint and possible future rust issue).
Electrical
-Hideaway headlamps work
-All gauges work and illuminate. except oil pressure gauge is disconnected at engine. with aftermarket pressure-fed gauge mounted under dash (see photo).
-Dashboard not modified
-Gauge lenses are good
-Chrome plating on dash plastic is worn
-Taillight lens is cracked. but no pieces missing (see photo)
-Horn relay clicks but horn does not honk
Interior
-Original except front seats reupholstered in the 70s
-Bottom of the driver's seat has a split in it (see photo)
-Original carpet has wear and fading
-Front console cover plate has 2 small holes drilled in black. indented portion (see photo)
-Driver's inside door panel metal trim piece has a dent in it (see photo). but I have an extra panel to go with the car.
-Armrest pads and console pads are intact and not cracked.
-Dash pad looks nice. however has hairline cracks if you look close enough.
-Owner's manual and sales brochure in glove box
-Rear seats and trunk panel fold down
-All trunk finish components and bumper jack are intact. but not refinished
-Trunk carpet has a hole the size of a quarter (see photo)
-Plastic taillight socket cover (inside trunk) is cracked
Chrome and Brightwork
-Grill and surround pieces are nice
-Bumpers have minor flaws and blemishes
-Fender top strips have scratches and scuffs
-Right rear quarter panel tailpiece is pitted (see photo)
Car is located in east central Iowa. east of Cedar Rapids. Please feel free to come inspect for yourself. or you may send someone to inspect it on your behalf (by appointment only).
