Beautiful 1969 MKIII Continental

Beautiful 1969 Mark III Continental one of the best 60's designs to come out of Detroit and the nicest looking of the luxury mark series.

I personally imported this 9 years ago. only 2 US owners. me being the third.

Sold new in 1968 by Phil Schuss Lincoln Mercury Oxnard CA. This is one of the first Mark III's. marked 1968 ½. With early design features. nicer steering wheel. seats and balance and blue printed engine. Comes with original handbook and all the bills and expenditure over the years. This gorgeous MKIII is 100% rust free with original Baltic Blue paint. perfect factory vinyl top looks new and if you know these cars as well as I do. there are no bubbles under the top near the rear window! This car has never seen bad weather and always garaged. The paintwork is original and shows excellent.

Perfect medium blue leather. all original and gorgeous. never been smoked in. Everything works on the car including the original 8 track. ice cold a/c. heat. clock pre Cartier insignia. cruise. seats. windows. everything apart from the power trunk. Overhead console lights. fibre optic tail light monitor. intermittent wipers. tilt steering. supremely comfortable 6 way seats with divider centre armrest.

Powerful 365 horse. 460-ci engine is whisper quiet with no leaks or noises and runs like a Rolex. All original engine decals. C6 auto shifts perfectly. floats down the road better than any silver shadow of the time. 76. 00 actual miles. used as my personal car to show and enjoy. Original chrome and brightwork. original deluxe factory wheel covers. recent 235-75-15 whitewall tyres. exhaust. brake callipers. plug lead cap. rotor re con radiator. original trunk carpets like new. the list goes on.

If you appreciate mint. original cars not restored it is the one for you. Supple ride with great performance a luxury muscle car. The last of the golden era of American luxury from the 60's. Mark III's beat the Cadillac Eldorado and outsold them 3:1. Over $8K new. they cost a tonne of money in the day. Celebrities of the era including Elvis. Dean Martin. Frank Sinatra. Glen Campbell all drove Mark III Continental's. Lee Iacocca who masterminded the MKIII kept his years after production had ended because he liked it that much. choosing it over the new 72 MK4 that was fatter and slower.

Car needs nothing and will drive anywhere in supreme comfort. Only selling because of new arrivals from the States. One of the nicest original early production MK III's available anywhere. a magnificent example. Comes with history and a Marti report.   MOT'd and free tax.
