Welcome to the auction of “GWEN” my 1963 MGB


About the Car;


1963 Series 1 (Pull Handle) British Racing Green.


GWEN was restored in the 80's by an MG enthusiast having new front wings. hood  wiring loom. radiator and re spray. amongst many many other parts 


There is a comprehensive archive of reports and receipts that reflect the work carried out. I have added to this during the ownership of the car.


She has retained  most of her original equipment. she has her original Jaeger  Fuel Gauge and Oil Pressure/ Temperature gauges. she has her original Alloy Bonnet. and doors.

The body shell is the original I have had a new sill professionally fitted during my ownership.

The door gaps are good with no signs of “sagging”.


The engine is a five bearing GB unit according to the previous owner. It has never been any trouble. I have just serviced and had it tuned when required.

The Gearbox is it's original 3 syncro but the overdrive is a Laycock “LH” type on the same control system as the original “D” Type.


I have used Gwen when ever I could. including track days I have carried out a few modifications for the track days.

Please note ALL of the modifications can be removed if the new owner wishes to return GWEN to her 1963 spec.

Braided Brake and Clutch Hoses (MOSS)

Parabolic rear springs (MGOC)

Bilstein rear telescopic dampers (MOSS)

3/4 Anti Roll Bar

Works Replica Wood Rim Steering Wheel


The original steering wheel (no horn push) and wire wheels are included in the sale should you wish to have them. as well as any other parts I have for the car.

Gwen will be 50 years old in November. she will want money spending on her but would make a great restoration project.
