This iconic vehicle is in immaculate condition as you can see from the pictures and I highly recommend you inspect it for yourself to appreciate its quality restoration and head turning appeal. The restoration process included a full strip down for rust removal. body work. painting electrical. brakes. gear box. suspension. steering and a complete re-trim. After the original full restoration two years ago. it has recently been fully mechanically overhauled with a brand new VW 1600cc motor and other important mechanical upgrades. Social activities. camping and adventure travel are full of fun in this 1972 Type 2 Volkswagen lowlight Kombi Transporter. The odometer says 49. 00 miles. however the vehicle has been driven about 10. 00 miles since the full restoration and the new motor and mechanical accessories are only approximately 2000 miles old. A muffler and heat exchange upgrade was also done at the time of the new motor. It runs like a beauty and needs no further work. Other features include. 12 months rego. JVC stereo/Cd with USB and Bluetooth connection and front and rear speakers. To prevent and control any possible overheating I have added a new temp. gauge. oil cooler and filter. The classy eye lashes and sun visor enhance this vehicles visual appeal as do the chrome dress rims. The roof luggage rack helps keep the interior clear when going on a trip. For safety purposes. I have just replaced the original seat belts with new ones. You can turn this vehicle into a lucrative business if desired by becoming involved in the popular wedding and formal vehicle hire business. or just use it for your own enjoyment. For assistance in future vehicle maintenance. it comes with a Haynes owner workshop manual and a Gregory's service and repair manual No. 49. 1992. For historic and authenticity purposes you will also receive a German factory birth certificate. I am looking to restore my next VW kombi. so unfortunately need to let this pride and joy go to a new passionate owner to free up some garage space. It has recently undertaken a major service. Is a non-smoker's car. Been garaged when not being driven since it was fully restored. It's accident free. the body is nice and straight. You will love the dark olive green and cream outside colour scheme which is enhanced by the interior cream. green and white colour design. This reliable vehicle glides down the highway with ease. or can just be used to go down to the beach for a swim and surf. It's poptop allows for comfortable camping. especially with the comfy double sized foldout "rock 'N roll" bed. I have recently driven it through central Australia from the Gold Coast to Adelaide and return. The vehicle received many looks and comments. It turns heads every time it comes out of the garage. Because I use this vehicle as my only means of personal transport. it gets regular use and has a few small chips to the paint work and one five cent size scrape. Can't keep it perfectly show room quality if it is being used daily. The early '70's lowlights are the next rarest of the Kombi's after the '50's and '60's splitties. They too are becoming difficult to find. Vehicle registration expires in December 2017. This rare opportunity to purchase a fast disappearing icon is exceptional value at the reduced price of $34. 00. This asking price is well in line with market value of this particular hard to get model and the extensive restoration that has been undertaken.
