1969 Chevrolet Nova

This is a very special and rare car that I hate to let go but I am coming to the realization that I probably won't get around to restoring it back to its original glory so here goes.

I am the 3 rd owner of this very original 1969 Nova SS 396/375 hp L 78 car. The car threw a rod with the original owner who then traded it to a small car dealer where they replaced the blown 396 with a stock 350. The original owner also had the car repainted red after a minor accident to the right rear quarter panel which was repaired with a 1/2 quarter. The original color is Cortez Silver which you can see in many areas of the car where the red enamel has chipped. The original black vinyl top is still on the car and is in excellent condition. The 2 nd owner who is now 80+ y/o bought the car for his daughter and then drove the car himself for several years. I have owned this Nova for 3 years and it is exactly as it was when I bought it from the 2 nd owner. I do have contact info for 2 nd owner.

This is a very rare Nova SS as it still has its original numbers matching CX code Turbo 400 transmission. There were only around 1400 1969 L 78 Novas with the Turbo 400 automatic which was the Only automatic used in the L 78 cars. This Nova also has its original and working gauge package with 6 K redline tach also only used in the L 78 s. Also present on the car is its original large singe fuel line with the blue retainers again only used on the L 78 cars. The original 12 bolt rear end and power front disc brakes are also still on car. The original Harrison radiator with coded tab is also there. This car does run and drive but the brakes are very soft due to sitting for several years. Brakes will need to be gone through before driving.

The body. trim. and glass are all original and in excellent condition with the exception of the right rear 1/2 quarter that was replaced as I mentioned already. This car is virtually rust free with the exception of some scale in the trunk pan. typical surface stuff underneath. and slight bubbling at a very small spot under vinyl top next to rear window trim.

The interior of this Nova is in near mint original condition with the exception of a slit on the drivers seat bottom.

All 4 original SS XT coded wheels are still with car as well. With the exception of not having its original engine. this is an extremely well preserved 1969 Nova SS 396 L 78 car. The miles are 79. 50 which I believe to be original. Unfortunately. I do not have any original paper documents with this car but it is possible that there is a build sheet to be found somewhere on the car. Anyone that really knows these cars though will not deny that this is a real deal 1969 Nova SS 396 L 78 automatic car.
