Alfa Romeo 2600 for sale
Current customer rating:
Hello and thank you for looking at my Alfa.
Due to health I have been forced to sell most of my automobile collection . The two Touring Alfa's are the last I must let go of. Previously I sold the following cars first hoping to be able to keep the Alfa's.
356 Porsche Roadster Mercedes 280 SL 91 Alfa Spider.
Also a 1970 Mach 1 owned for 35 years. These cars were all sold on Ebay and the buyers were pleased with there purchases. Therefore I encourage you to come and see and drive the car before you buy. I was hoping to be able to keep the Spiders. (I still have a 59 2000 Touring) to list seperately. Regrettably I am still paying medical bills and now my two big Alfa's are for sale. Your are looking at my 63 2600. I bought this Alfa after looking for sometime. The car spent most of it's life in Southern California. It was. and still is a rust free automobile. The car is beautiful and well sorted out for a 50 year old car. Finding a rust free older Alfa is rare. Before I purchased this car I viewed a video of the undercarriage being dry ice blasted. The metal was shiny and the rails were nice with no denting from improper jacking and so forth. As I mentioned the paint is in very good of condition . The red color is correct and shows great. The chrome also looks almost new. I have done very little to the car other than drive it.
The instruments work correctly. Water temp. il temp. uel indicator and reserve light etc. The fog/running lights are both working. I still have a problem with head lights. They work on high and low beam. however one of the lights dim somewhat when they are on low. I think it is a grounding issue? I did recently have a state inspection and they were working then?? They are the original Carrello bulbs and are in very nice shape. I drive this car often and enjoy it with the top down on nice days. The engine is strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. I want to mention the cloth top was new when I bought the car. The car has front disc and large finned rear drums. The brakes work great and stop you in a straight line. The paint is at least 15 years old and still shows very nice. It does have a couple of spider cracks around the hood. (see photo's)I assume from closing it too hard. The body is very strait and shows no sign of any body work. Doors. hood and boot have very nice gaps. The doors shut well and feel solid. The previous owner replaced all rubber molding including inner door weather stripping. The only major thing I've done is remove the gas tank and have it boiled out . I replaced the screen in the tank . fuel pump filter and Fispa regulator filter . ll at the same time.
The car always starts up runs great. It is just great running down the highway. Steering is tight and the ride is smooth . Those that know the model probably have noticed the map pocket pulls are not correct. I do have the correct ones which will go with the car. I was wanting to redo the interior this winter and have them put on at that time.
Known issues are as follows: Radio has never worked. I have a period correct Motorola that I was planning on installing . It also goes with car. It has not been tested yet. I pulled it out of another Alfa 15 years ago. The parking brake sticks and some times I have to manually tap the linkage at the drum to release. Shift knob comes off. Again haven't really checked it out. Leaks around engine after a good drive . I've never was fortunate enough to own a Alfa that didn't leak. I guess you should expect it since it has 100 k miles on it. I'm sure there is something I can't think of. Please contact me with any specific question. Please do not bid if you do not want this car. The reserve is very low and far less than I invested in it. I didn't buy the car to flip. My intention was to finish making this true classic a much better automobile than it came too me. I prefer phone conversions with interested bidders.
Again thanks for looking. Greg.

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Peter van EgmondDear Greg,
Sorry to hear that you are selling your dream cars because of health issues.
My name is Peter van Egmond and I'm a true Alfa enthusiast and I'm wondering if the 2600 Spider is still for sale?
In your adverb you show pictures of the 2600 Spider and mention that you also have a 2000 Spider. Is this one also still available, as I cannot find the mentioned separate adverb?
If so, is it possible for you to provide me with some additional info regarding the 2000 Spider.
On both cars I would like to know if they are matching and if there is any history available.
Kind Regards,
Peter
