This is my 67 Chevrolet G 10 swb Panel Van.
I think it is a crazy looking van. it certainly turns heads and would be a great advert for a business. although it is a better advert for not being boring!
I bought it from a hot rodder in California. who after telling me I wouldnt see another ! Told me that he had
it professionally lowered (chassis C section. new dampers. re routed brake lines etc )
He also mentioned the routine service parts. new brakes. exhaust . uel pump. carb rebuild and electronic ignition system he had fitted. All worthwhile undertakings. and items which shouldn't need attention for a while.
The van is uk registered - although the pictures still show the US plates.
It is rust free. and remarkably original and untouched on the inside - it even retains the original build data sticker etc.
Lets not get too carried away as it is a 46 year old American commercial vehicle - it has had a life and wears some battle scars as a result. Nothing too bad. and if you are familiar with American vehicles of this period you will feel at ease with the rattly cargo doors and other reminders that it isnt a new BMW.
The van drives pretty well for a lowered vehicle (even standard ones are 'interesting' to drive) it is great on the motorways and around town. but can be choppy on country lanes and uneven surfaces. 3 speed manual transmission. works well and the steering is much lighter than a comparative Chevy truck.
The styling and looks make this thing stand out from the crowd. - it is a manageable size and lots of fun.
