Sunbeam Rapier Series II 1958 Convertible

For Restoration

Unfortunately I am unable to complete the restoration on this very rare 1958 Series II.

I have started the basics and also reupholstered the front seats. but due to work commitments I am now calling it a day and ready to pass it on to a new owner.

About the Car:

The car is a rare 1958 Series II convertible with overdrive.

The car turns over and did start until I broke the connector on the Coil. which is a screw on type.

It has a new Vinyl Soft-Top cover which has never been fitted and will require to be finished off      ( Fastening Studs etc. ) Cost me £200 as it is.

The car is in a restoration condition with good steelwork including the underside. there are some holes on the offside rear fin which are shown on the pictures.

The new owner would need to complete the  rear seating upholstery and the rest of the car.

The number plate 77CNK is a nice number and is valued at £3000 a copy of the valuation is in the pictures. I have contacted DVLA and they have confirmed that the registration number can be transferred.

I have the V5 at hand.

I believe that there are only around 30 of these left worldwide. however. spares/engine/gearbox/electrics are not a problem to find.

When completed I can give you a contact details from a filming crew who would be interested in hiring the vehicle should you wish to go in that direction.

Being a 1958 model the car does not require an MOT test ( but must obviously be safe and roadworthy) or car tax and is also very cheap on classic car insurance.
