This car is all about adding distinction and attraction to an already impressive package. After all. beyond the Shelby elements of this 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 tribute. there's still the ultra-desirable first-year fastback underneath. That's why this early pony car is a winner from every angle.


A Shelby-built GT350 will cost a fortune. and even a nice tribute like this requires a major investment. So while they were busy putting the work into making a snake-bitten coupe. it's also nice to see some custom touches that really highlight the effort. It all results in a car that looks mean and distinct and will also standout in the Mustang crowd. There's just no mistaking the original GT350 appearance. It starts with taking one of the rarest and often most valuable of the three Mustang configurations. the 2+2 fastback. and making it look even better. This one was restored to include a professional application of Wimbledon White paint. Plus. the hood scoop. hood pins. and larger side air ducts are icons from the years Shelby was building these out of his Los Angeles factory. But it's instantly easy to distinguish this '65 from across the show field thanks to the addition of the red competition stripes. and that's also repeated on the GT-style rockers. The result is a car that looks correct and nicely presented while still being quite distinctive.


Inside the white and red theme continues. But where the exterior is built for competition. the interior is much more about comfort and luxury. You know this the moment you open the door and lay eyes on the premium "Pony" package bucket seats that even have Mustang logo seatbelts. This two-tone vinyl matches so nicely with the fold-down rear seat. door panels. headliner. capering. and dashboard. This is a comfortable center console car with wood paneling that matches the glovebox and gauge surrounds. In fact. this coupe looks authentic and premium right down to the provisions for air conditioning. But there is one nice upgrade that is a great addition to any car that goes on road trips. The modern AM/FM/CD stereo means always being able to match to soundtrack to the road. And that's a good thing because this is a true driver's car. You know it the moment you slip behind the Shelby-style wood and chrome steering wheel. and gaze over the GT-style gauges that also have the addition of the Rally Pac-style tach and clock mounted to the steering column.


Under the hood is 289 cubic-inch V8 that's dressed to impress the Shelby crowd. It has the Cobra air cleaner and Cobra valve covers boldly sitting on top of the big blue block. And since this is originally an A-code coupe. you'll be happy to see a four-barrel carburetor helping the stout V8 inhale deeply. High flow mufflers on the dual exhaust help give this total package more bark and bite. In fact. the whole coupe is setup up to be a great anytime sports car with features like power steering. C4 three-speed automatic transmission. front disc brakes. a new rear sway bar. and BF Goodrich T/A radials on those iconic Mag wheels.


All it takes is one look at the exceptionally clean undercarriage to understand the level of investment that went into this GT350 tribute. So beyond the great looks is a great build. which makes this a fantastic buy. Call today!!
