For sale is Freddie our Rover Mini Cooper - The reason I brought him was to scratch an itch and get into the classic scene – The reason for selling is my trailer now lives outside and I could really do with my garage space back and I also lack the time and mechanical skills to keep my cars going and have just brought a T5

The good bits;

Cooper sport arches and side skirts

Molton smootha ride suspension

Mini Fins rear drums

1275cc Spi stage 2 tuned with full s/s exhaust

Cobra alarm with central locking

JVC CD player

Brought from mini collectors and enthusiasts and has had a recent full restoration. The underside is fully waxoiled and he runs like a dream with no smoke and no leaks (which is unusual as most cars of this era leak oil)!

Since I have owned he has had;

New battery. Coolant change. new ball joints. new steering rack. new clutch slave cylinder. new alternator. magnolia time clock to dash. new alloy door sets. new cooper car mats and some electrical gremlins sorted

Being stage 2 tuned the car shifts and pulls strongly with no missing. hesitation or smoking. There are no leaks and the engine and gearbox are sweet with no crunching and no stiff gear selection.

The bad bits (although not actually that bad);

No service history – the guys I brought off assured me they picked it up following an acrimonious split so the history file was lost. An old MOT search seemed to clarify mileage so I took a leap of faith and have had many long journeys so have every faith that the car is reliable and has been well restored and looked after.

The wheels rub the arches only on full lock but esp is reverse – I am not sure if the wheels need spacers or the arches need trimming back slightly but it won't be a difficult fix but I have just lived with it.

There is a small rust patch the size of a 50p on the bottom of the A frame drivers side just in front of the door. It hasn't come through the paint yet but it will need sorting

The passenger side wing has some very small blistering under the headlamp and on the side. If keeping I would probably live with it for a few years then replace the wing.

There have been a bad batch of heater valves so I had a bad one fitted which leaked so was returned. I haven't yet re-fitted a new valve (£25) and it also needs a new heater matrix (£50). Not on my high priority list given car is garaged and not really used anyway in the winter.

The headlining over both sun visors has split on the seams so will need attention
