I don't intend to buy Zero the Midget's little Crosley, but I did admire it when I first saw it during the summer of 1952 or thereabouts. I would have been about five years old, and our neighborhood in Cleveland Heights, Ohio was packed with kids. I was outside minding my own business when one of the older girls announced, "It's Zero the Midget," and ran past us toward the corner of Coventry and Hampshire Roads. There was a sea of kids up there and Zero himself, who scared me, was handing out what I guess were Zero candy bars to the multitude. But I did like his little car, which I'd always remembered as being white instead of yellow. It's been 67 years and I'm delighted that the little car has been preserved. Our particular neighborhood was noted for its high percentage of foreign-born children from what was left of post WW2 Europe.
