1980 MG MGB for sale
Current customer rating: (119 votes ) based onOriginal owner and his family owned the car from August. 1980 until 2013 when it sold to a collector in Beverly Hills. who then sold it to the person I bought it from. My seller restored the car after driving it cross-country from Beverly Hills to Florida! He is a NAMGAR award-winning restorer. and it shows. The car starts right up. runs smoothly. shifts perfectly. and tracks and brakes straight. This is a 4-speed non-overdrive car. I drive it often on the highway and it will cruise all day at 70 mph. A very tight and rattle-free automobile.
The Cosmetic Restoration: The car was disassembled to prep for paint. Front fenders. bumpers. hood. trunk lid. trim. windshield. lights. etc. were removed. Bumpers were repainted in a satin flex paint that looks exactly like they would have looked when new. New stainless steel trim was installed. as well as new reproduction Ltd Edition wheels. tires. and a new Robins top. New rubber seals all around. new carpet. seat cushions. new reproduction steering wheel. clock. radio. speakers. door panels. under dash panels. original and extra tonneau cover. The aluminum windshield frame and all bright metal on this car is corrosion free.
The Mechanical Restoration: All New: Clutch. brakes. wheels. tires. carburetor rebuilt. polished aluminum valve cover. radiator. water pump. Kevlar cooling hoses. engine fan. additional electric cooling fans. Pacesetter exhaust. and front suspension bushings.
I have various receipts dating from purchase. Everything works on the car except the smog air pump. It's disconnected. All smog equipment is still mounted on the engine.
This car is extremely well-sorted. looks new. drives like new. and needs nothing. If you want one of the very top Limited Editions in the country. this is your car.
Value: Hagerty values this car at $22. 00 for a #1 Concours condition Ltd. Edition. and $18. 00 for a #2 Excellent condition car. Both numbers include Hagerty's $1500 adjustment for the Limited Edition. My reserve is well below the #2 number. even though I consider the car to be closer to a #1 than a #2 condition.
TERMS: Seller must receive a $1000 non-refundable deposit from the high bidder within 48 hours of close of bidding. Balance due within 7 business days. Car is located in Yarmouth. Maine. Buyer to make all shipping arrangements. I will coordinate with the shipper to have the car ready for pickup.
One Last Thing! Hey. nbsp;do us both a favor and check with your wife before you bid! If you are the high bidder. you have contracted to buy the car.
