1966 Sunbeam Tiger

Before going into details on this 1966 Sunbeam Tiger. here at MissChiTown we are great fans of history and know a lot about the psychology of how the Sunbeam Tiger came to be.   Certainly the psychology of dropping in large V8 engines into English anemic 4 and 6 cylinder sports cars really got it start from the famous Mr. Carroll Shelby.   It was Carroll who replaced the somewhat underpowered British AC with a Ford V8 and went on to win some of the most important races in history and become a legend.   It didn't take long for others to realize that the combination of small car-big engine was a very workable combination and of course the Sunbeam seemed to be a great candidate for such an engine swap with its 4-cylinder engine.

So that is how the Sunbeam with its 4-cylinder engine was going to be treated to a Ford V8 engine 260 c. i. and in such a lightweight body could accelerate at neck snapping 0-60 times.   The cars also handled quite well and everybody was pleased with the Shelby Cobras from the day that they were introduced until current times where they are coveted by car collectors.

Yes the Sunbeam on its own was a very good-looking car and was noted for being. by English standards. a quality built car.   Having the 260 c. i. engine with a 4-speed transmission allowed the Sunbeam Tiger to be a daily driver or a Corvette beater.

As many people already know. MissChiTown is a marketing service for car collectors that want to advertise their cars on eBay.   However we are car collectors ourselves and can greatly appreciate the wonderful combination of the Sunbeam Tiger.

The following information MissChiTown has been received by the current owner who has owned this car for approximately 25 years.   The car was restored in 2004 and has had very few miles since the restoration.   The private seller tells us there are about 1. 00 miles since the restoration that was done in 2004 with a mild cam.   The car has been stored in a climate control garage and has had loving care during its current ownership.   The car is a 4-speed. 260 c. i. engine with two tops. Wire wheel option.   It has received three first place trophies.   The private seller tells us that this is not a converted Tiger but an original Tiger in some of the most attractive colors that we have seen on a Sunbeam Tiger.

You can give us a call at 847-774-4857 to see how things might work out.

We suggest that you check out the pictures and see if you are as impressed as we are; what you see is what you get.

As you can see from the pictures the car is a most attractive package and could be taken to any car show.   There is absolutely no question that Sunbeam Tigers are on the appreciation curve during the last few years.   This is definitely a car that should continue to increase in value and also give the new owner plenty of pride of ownership as well as the fun of touring at high speeds with break neck acceleration.   This is one of the top collector investments that we have seen in recent times.   Bid with confidence you will always be happy that you did.
