Genuine Ford Escort Mexico Mk 1 with Crossflow Engine

This car is a 100% genuine 1973 Mk 1 Ford Escort Mexico with paper work to prove it. including a letter from the Ford dealership that supplied it new. mentioning it in the letter to the first owner confirming they supplied the Ford Avo Mexico. asking him if he would like to come in and view the new RS2000 cars. Luckily enough he didn't because we all know that Mexico's are less made than the flooded market of the RS2000's.

Its escort RS1600 supplementary owners handbook and
A ford Service book with entries for the vehicle

There is a lot of documentation about the car including over the years parts and servicing for the vehicle in question.   It has on the log book stating Escort Mexico 1601cc for the engine and the BFATN chassis all to verify the Mexico.

I bought this car to restore as they are very rare all I have managed to do is to sort the engine out which as you can see from the pictures does look very well with some tweak performance parts on it.

This car does require a lot of welding and panels.   Unfortunately I am not a welder. I can source parts and do engines.   This car has been in the back of my garage and I am not getting on with it due to other projects that I am working on and therefore I am putting it out in the market place for sale.   If you are a cracking welder or know of a good welder all panels can be sourced on eBay here is your opportunity to own a true classic.  

I know in a few years when these probably be up to the £30K+ range I will kick myself but I need space and the vehicle needs doing. there is a full list below of what comes with the car and what has been done so far but I would like to state again. this car requires a good welder and a lot of welding to be right.   I am more than happy for people to view by appointment only and I do have a lot of photos which if you are seriously interested and not just a tyre kicker I can send you pictures of inside. outside. upside down.

Gearbox seems to be Ford 4 speed it came with the car. turns over ok complete with a 4 speed gearstick and know

Clutch plate and cover are ok but think most people upgrade these.   There is no clutch fork or release bearing.

The car will need to be trailered away.   The engine is sat in place for trailer transport. the gearbox is not bolted in.

Just to clarify this is not the original engine it is a period correct engine for this car.  It came to me with no engine.
