Had sold this last week but now the buyer has fallen through so relisting as a classified. Feel free to contact me for info. Cheers!

Looking to sell the old VIP. Have owned it for 20 months and in that time have tidied it up. put a new exhaust on it. new rear drums and hardware. lowered it and chucked some 15x8s on it. The plan was to keep it and the next job on the list was panel and paint. The plan has changed and after using it for my wedding at the end of August its now time to do grown up things which means the Vals got to go!

She is a 1970 VG Valiant. the VIP model which has a longer wheelbase and runs the 318 (5. 2) litre V8 with a 3 speed automatic behind it. She was imported from Australia in the early 70's and therefore is right hand drive making it easy to drive over here. I have used it regularly since owning it and often use it for the work commute!

The Good
Interior is immaculate. all intact. The roof lining is pristine and even the old AM radio still works.
Has had new back brake shoes. drums and hardware a couple months ago.
Starts every time. never had any issues and has never let me down.
Oil change and coolant change and new oil and air filter less than 50 miles ago.
New 2. 5 inch stainless exhaust all the way through coming off block hugger headers and finishing shotgun style straight out the back.
83 500 original miles. cruised through its last MOT needing a tie rod end. hand brake adjusting. steering idler arm and a headlight raising.
15x8" wheels imported from the states and 225 50s tyres all round. Ones on the back are near new and all have good tread.
Power steering
Stereo system. CD player with aux and usb inputs. 2 6" front and 2 6x9" rear speakers.
Had new engine mounts couple of months ago as the old ones needed replacing.
Stacks of spares. including brand new in the box suspension and steering parts such as tie rod ends. ball joints. wish bones. bushes. etc. Electrical parts. boxes. switches wiring etc. Original wheels. hub caps and surrounds. Cables. latches. filters. gaskets. all sorts of stuff including a spare front windscreen. starter motors. trans fluid cooler and transmission.
Tax free due to its age.
Right hand drive.

The Bad
This model has factory fitted air con but the heater doesnt work. The actual motor does as I have run a direct current to it and its all good so must be a switch or fuse somewhere thats gone. Never bothered to fix it as I only use it when the weathers good!
Some fumes come out the oil filler cap when the motor is under stress. Dont think this is rings as no smoke from exhaust and its not blowing blue on start up. Had it compression tested and cylinder 3 is slightly lower than the rest so maybe valve seat or similar.

The ugly
Had some cosmetic surface rust when i bought it. has slowly got worse as i havent been able to garage it and living near the sea hasn't helped matters! Have put a couple pics on to try and show it as best as possible. Main areas are the drivers side front guard/wing and the rear wheel arches and rear lower guards/wings and rear spoiler. Structurally the car is solid. chassis and sills are good and bottoms of doors are solid. Seems to be common areas where mud/dirt/salt of the road had built up. Was the next job on the list but the time and cash are unavailable now!

Cool old aussie Valiant. big enough to turn heads but still small enough to handle UK roads. Would love for her to go to someone who is going to return her to her former glory or at least just enjoy driving her. Any questions give me a yell.

Cheers
