I have owned it for close to 15 years. was seldomly used. been stored in a garage when not in use and started appropriately.
This is a very honest. original. unmolested example that has been well looked after and maintained.
Except for a couple of small shopping trolley dints the car is gun barrel straight. the paint has a few imperfections as one would expect but you need to look for them. its a striking colour and presents extremely well. There are 2 small moisture bubbles in lower front guard but by no means is this rust that has penetrated the steel.
Chrome work is excellent with very minor pitting in parts which I most probably will buff out in the next couple of days.
Interior is excellent as per pictures. carpets are average-good not perfect. woodwork is near perfect. dash pad has no cracks. roof lining is excellent. gauges are excellent. door cards excellent.
Mechanically car is very strong. I have had a lot of Jags and its a very tight ride. now I know its a big call but it appears there are no oil leaks at all as I have no oil on the ground. I am going to give it a decent run in next few days then let it settle. we shall see if any oil leaks then.
A couple of tyres are unsuitable. so factor in a new set of tyres.
This is not a botched up. abused. molested car. I don't buy cars unless they are original. unmodified and generally I like unrestored cars in good condition. The last of the big grill Jags really and in my opinion the most collectable amongst the XJ6 series cars.
At this point in time I cant find the spare wheel. I had it but I have misplaced it.
I have priced it I think very competitively for a car that you can just jump in and enjoy. I need the money for a new project its time to move on.
Don't take my word for it come and look at it. make a reasonable offer and its yours. I will sell it. Tell me what other classic car you can buy for this money with such provenance.
