This is a 1964 Alfa Romeo 101 Series GIULIA SPIDER VELOCE.  It has a 1750 CC Alfa motor  with 5 Speed Transmission.  It has a pair of DellOrto Carburetors. It appears that the car has been prepared as a very hot street / Race Car. The 1750 motor feels extremely powerful and probably has performance cams and pistons along with other modifications. Custom exhaust headers are fitted along with a super trap tail pipe. It also feels like it has a lightened flywheel from the way the clutch releases. The throw out bearing is noisy and will need to be replaced.  It has  a remote spin on oil filter along with an oil cooler. An alternator has been fitted in place of the generator. The car has electronic ignition. The proper Veloce oil pan was fitted to the 1750 motor. it will need the lower gasket to be replaced as oil weeps out of it. The car has a roll bar. We have been trying unsuccessfully to get in touch with the previous owner to discuss the modifications that were done to this Alfa.

The car is finished in Alfa Red and the car is nice and shiny. It has a few flaws in spots on the paint. The hood air intake is missing the trim molding (these are available from aftermarket suppliers) and there is a crack in the paint on the right edge. The fender wheel arches have been modified / flared out to be able to fit wider tires. There is no front bumper. If you desire one. we have located one and it is currently available directly from its owner. The rear bumper is present. the license plate lights are not original. The correct IPRA Heater Box is present along with Lucas Wiper motor. however there are no wiper arms on the car. The car has no top or top frame and the spare tire retainer bracket was cut out and there is no spare tire. The doors have no glass or window regulators in them. We assume all these modifications were made at some point in the past. especially if the car was a race car. The seats are not original. once again an unknown modification by the previous owner. The car has a Nardi Wood Steering Wheel with polished spokes. The emergency brake is not the typical "umbrella" handle pull type. instead a later style between the seats e-brake was fitted. The rear trailing arms have poly bushings fitted. I will confirm (and adjust the listing). but this may have been done if a limited slip differential was fitted and the builder could not adapt the original e-brake.  The car has Ate DISC Brakes at all 4 wheels.  It has original Borrani Steel Wheels with their Center Caps.  The CONTI Touring Contact 185/65-15 Tires on the car appear new.

This Giulia Spider Veloce is solid and although it has been modified. you can take it in any direction that you choose. You can keep it as a hot street car or modify it further into a full race car depending on your desires. It appears to be in the middle as far as those 2 uses. It can be registered and used as is on the street and at club track events and time trials. A car that you can drive to the track. enjoy and drive it home. You can also convert it back to a full street car. Once again that would be your choice.

I love Alfa Romeos and all Italian cars. I saw this car at an auction recently and could not resist. I was captivated by the blood red color that accentuates this lovely period body style. Currently I have way too many cars and I am trying to thin down my collection due to a growing family and its obligations. The car was an insurance recovery out of Brooklyn NY after the storm Sandy. Once I brought it home. all the fluids were drained and flushed thoroughly. Fresh motor oil and filter. transmission and differential fluids. and brake fluid were put in. The carburetors were changed from the original Webers to these Dellortos that I had purchased in Italy years ago after a complete rebuild. The car started immediately and runs extremely well and strong. The only remaining symptom of its harrowing experience is the noisy throw out bearing.  The other symptom is that all three of the original Veglia gauges are not functioning. These are totally re-buildable by any good instrument shop. or you may choose to use more efficient modern instruments if you go full race. The car was totally cleaned and thoroughly dried out. The underside has some slight surface rust. it comes off easily with steel wool. but I have left it as is so the future owner can see the state of the underside. It appears that some metal repairs were made in the past. This is an incredible car that is ready to be driven and for you to modify to your desires.

The car is New York. on the Queens side of the Triboro Bridge and you are encouraged to arrange to come and see and drive it. The car is listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The car has a transferable NY State DMV Registration. In NY STATE. titles are not issued for cars prior to 1973. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange pick up of the vehicle after full payment from its current location. A deposit of $1000. is to be made by PayPal by the winning bidder at close of auction.
