Volvo 1800 ES showing 98412 miles (believed to be original). Comes in factory yellow and sports a very nice paint job. Not show quality. but very close to it. Two or three minor blemishes in the paint that are hardly noticable. There are some small bubbles beginning to develop at the front bottom of the right rear wheel well. but that's just about it. This is a nice Volvo and it shows well. The body is straight as an arrow.  You can tell by looking down the sides that it has been well taken care of. Most of you out there know what this is. so just to broaden your prospective on this particular ES. I will briefly describe this one to the best of my ability. First. it is a factory yellow Vovlo Estate Wagon whose body (upper and lower) shows almost like the day it came off the showroom floor. The exception is. nbsp;this car has been modified so that it runs and drives similar to an updated car. The fuel injection system has been removed and replaced with a two barrel Weber carburetor. she has a Crane electronic ignition system. the A/C system has been upgraded with a Saden 508 compressor. there are steel brake lines on the front. IPD stabilizers (front and rear) with bushings. new disc brake pads all around and she has a heavy. ribbed alloy valve cover over the motor. New tie rods on the front. New limiting straps on the rear. a new exuaust system coming back from a set of custom headers that have been tape wrapped to cut down on the heat radiation.

Calipers have all beem painted bright red with heat resistant paint. These cars look fast. even when they are sitting still but to be honest. the 1800 ES wagons were not built for speed. they were basically built for looks and dfependability. The cars really win in this catagory.  My car has new KYB shocks on the front and still carries the Bilsteins on the rear that were there when I purchased her. Another update that makes these cars stand out are the Volvo "Virgo" deep lip wheels that came standard onthe 240 Turbo cars. Most 1800 owners have no objection to this series riding on these "Virgo" wheels. Michelin "Pilots" are on the ground. They are not new tires. but are in great condition. She comes with tinted windows and it looks to me like there are new window seals (new rubber seals) all the way around thie car. I removed the standard hood rubber seal and replaced it with a new Volvo "Alternative" seal that covers more hood area. The hood insulation kit was still in great shape when we got the car so we didn't mess with it. The rear door seal is also brand new and she has new door seals on each side. The doors operate beautifully however the catches that prop them open need attention. I drive this car weekly and it has a fresh tune up and oil change on it.  The motor has less than 100. 00 miles on it and is in perfect condition. I don't believe that the motor has ever been opened up. There are maintainence records going back to 2002 on the car and at that time. it was showing 96594 miles.  Weber carb has an electronic choke. but I find it's easier to start this one  by pumping the gas a couple of times before turning on the ignition. Once she starts and warms up. you're good to go! These cars are super dependable and this one comes with a new fuel pump too! This is a Texas bought Volvo ES and the papers that I got with the car go with it along with a large collection of Volvo magazines and any other Volvo parts/items that I can find. There is really nothing else that I can do to the car at this point. Everything has been done. It runs fine. drives and stops fine. the automatic transmission has a "quick" change from ist to 2nd.  I believe this is normal because the car does "kick down" to passing gear if you get on it. When the car was painted. the owner (at that time) saw fit not to go back with the chrome trim on the sides. It looks very nice without it. The "Volvo" hood ornament was also not put back on the car. but everything else (plus more) is there. New maroon and black leather seats and door upholstery (real leather) which speaks very well to the same color combination that was used on the carpet. It has a "Lecarra" custom steering wheel that feels and looks great. The original steering wheel is included with the car as well.   The dash is really a dash pad and there are two small cracks in it. Not bad looking though. All instruments work. lights. turn signals. emergency flashers. oil temp. water temp. gas gauge. speedo. tach. etc. everything but the clock.  Dome lights are not working but I have't looked at them. Horn is hooked up. but will not blow. Again. not a perfect one. but darn close to it. You will have to do one or two things when you get this car (just like I did). but not much at all. Did I leave anything out? Both vent windows have brand new rubber around them.  The right one is "tempermental" so I never open it. These Volvo 1800 heaters are legendary and this one is no exception.  Also. with the new style A/C compressor. when the air is turned on. there is hardly any noticable "drop" in the engine speed or power.

The Radio is an Alpine IVA-D106 tuner that has all of the bells and whistles. Power amplifier. subwoofer. four SPR-13C speakers and a NVE M-300 GPS Navigation System. Radio plays CD's. AM/FM/ radio. or you can watch DVD movies. Although I have never got it to work this set up comes with a new GPS system! I've got original boxes. computer CD's intstrustion manuals. etc. and probably just am not figuring out how to get the GPS to work. Everything is professionally installed. so it should work. I am told that all of this complete system hit the previous owner for somewhere close to $4000.  This Volvo is protected by a Viper remote controlled alarm system that provides a keyless entry to this nice car. A feature that the 1973 Volvo 1800 ES did not come equipped with.  Very nice Volvo. Sold in "as is" condition.
