1976 Porsche 912E

 First manufactured by Porsche in 1965. the Type 912 initially outsold the already-established 911. being offered as the company`s entry-level model combining the chassis and body-shell of the 911 with essentially a 356C specification 1600cc engine developing 90bhp. Over a 4-year production run. around 32. 00 cars were built but expensive production costs lead its demise and the introduction of the cheaper 914. However. after a 6-year run. that model too was phased out and public demand saw the 912 re-introduced in late 1975 purely for the US market. Branded the 912E. the car shared G-Series body-work with the 911S and was powered by a 2. 0 Volkswagen air-cooled engine with all-new Bosch fuel injection developing 86bhp. Around 2. 00 units were built in a short 14-month period.

Our car was supplied new by Alan Johnson of San Diego and is presented in Grand Prix White with Black interior. A sunroof model with genuine Fuchs alloys. the 912 was imported to the UK recently and comes with US (Arizona) title and Nova Certificate. We understand that the engine was rebuilt prior to importation.  The car benefits from a 12-month MOT Certificate and can be UK-registered to its first UK-keeper.

The vehicle forms part of a small collection kept in secure storage near Shepton Mallet in Somerset. A mainline railway service from London is available to nearby Castle Cary (4 miles) and transport to and from the Station can be arranged by prior agreement.  

A pretty car now becoming sought-after.
