This car was first registered in Nov 97 and has a MOT until Feb 2017. It has had 5 previous owners and has been owned by my son since May 2009. The colour is Nightfire Red with a White roof. The spots have never been fitted but are available along with the bonnet stripes.
The car has been maintained regardless of cost by Slark Race Engineering and Classic Car Restoration – Bristol. They have completed all mechanical and body restorations as required.
Since the car has been in our ownership. we have spent over 9k on it. There are no major body or mechanical issues.
In Jan. 10 the engine. gearbox and diff was stripped and re-built. A fast road head. polished gas flowed and fitted with 35. 7 x 29 valves was fitted. The car has covered 30k since the re-build. Major body work repairs were also carried out a year later including door skins and a re-spray.
A New scuttle and front wings sub frames. were replaced in 2014. In Feb 2015 the gearbox was re-built again. the cam shaft was replaced. the diff had an upgraded diff pin fitted and crown wheels and pinion 3. 1:1. A New Mainiflow exhaust was also fitted. Car was completely wax oiled including inside the panels.
The suspension has been upgraded with Hi – Lo platforms and Spax adjustable dampers. including adjustable tie bars. Other items replaced are; Clutch Master cylinder and braided clutch hoses. starter motor. expansion tank. stepper motor and vacuum hose and race quick release battery clamps. A new windscreen and rubbers plus roof arial has also been replaced. The car also has a JVC audio unit and there are two high quality speakers under the rear seat.
All the bills are available from our and the previous owner. The original Rover documents wallet and handbook is included. Reason for sale. son needs a car for long distance commuting due to work
