1969 Pontiac GTO convertible. I have owned this car for 36 years. It has 86. 00+ original miles.

Positives:

This car underwent a body off the frame. high end professional restoration that was completed in 2000.

I have put on approx. 5000 miles since it was completed. (About 350 miles per year).

Frame was chemical dipped and the inside of the boxed frame was coated with rust proofing paint. The entire frame components were rebuilt or replaced. All fuel & brake lines. shocks. brake components. springs. front end components. gas tank. etc. . were replaced new.

1969 GTO 400 engine rebuilt to factory specs. I took this out of another 69 GTO as the original motor threw a rod. Runs smooth and powerful. Starts up on first turn of the key. Correct external components were used including the clamps. date coded plug wires. etc. Upgraded to electronic ignition but looks original. Stainless steel exhaust system.

Muncie 4 speed transmission rebuilt. shift linkage rebuilt. original rare 3:90 rear end changed over to 3:23 for better cruising but the original 3:90 gears go with the car.

Body rotisserie restored. NOS front fenders. new seals. weather stripping. wiring harnesses.

Trunk correctly painted and jack restored. Correct trunk mat.

Undercarriage was completely show detailed and still looks good. no rust.

Complete new interior. carpet. jute pad. etc. Dash and center console sent to Just Dashes for restoration ($$). Even the back of the dash's bare metal was sealed to prevent the usual rusting.   Dash bezels and vent bezels & gauges restored. Seat belts restored by Ssnake Oyl ($$)

Convertible top frame removed and restored. New hydraulic pump and lines. New top added and new boot (never used).

Radial tires have approx. 950 miles on them. Rims sandblasted and professionally restored.  I used another set of restored rims with bias ply tires for the first few years because I showed the car a lot and thought it was more original looking. These will be available for very reasonable purchase if the winner is interested.

Paint is a base coat/clear coat. Still shines and looks great. Over the years there have been a couple of very minor chips that were always taken care of and you probably wouldn't find them unless I pointed them out. Some left over paint goes with car for touch up.

This car has approx. 5000 miles on it since the restoration. Always garaged and under a car cover. Runs and drives great. I'm sure I missed something but basically everything replaced. or restored using many NOS parts. This car was going to stay in the family forever but unfortunately things change and the car collection is being reduced. This car can be bought for about half of the restoration costs.

Ma inspection still valid and the Title is in hand.

Negatives:

Has the original AM radio (works) but I never added a speaker. The plan was to upgrade the stereo and add speakers but never got around to it.

The vent/defroster lever only moves half way because the cable wire just kinked. (There is an 18' wire cable that connects to the back of the lever and goes to the top of interior heater box and controls the flapper inside. When you move the lever it pulls/pushes the cable and moves the flap in the heater box. ). Easy to reach and a 10 minute fix as it has 2 screws to connect it. Because the wire is kinked the flapper door on the heater box rattles a bit when under acceleration (high RPM's) I just ordered all brand new cables from Inline Tube for all of the levers and they will go with the car. These were not available when the car was restored so I cleaned and used the originals.

Engine compartment is still “local show” clean but for concourse class the detailing should be a little updated.

The black paint in the headlight bezels could use a refresh.
