During the 1987 restoration the engine was removed and partially stripped down to check bore condition. big end condition. valved etc. The starter motor was also refurbished. and has been again in August 2016 The fuel pump was checked over. and has been again in August 2016 The engine spins over freely on the starter motor with no noises etc. The fuel tank has been removed and is in good condition. Oil tank looks to be in good condition All glass panels. including headlights. are in good condition The rear brake discs and callipers have been removed and the front callipers also removed. The car rolls freely
I wouldn't run the engine on fuel until fuel lines were checked and injection system checked over. Also the oil tank cleaned. all oils lines cleaned and fresh oil put in.

During the 1987 strip down a total re-spray including engine bay. and inside boot area was carried out in BLACK and the inside was updated to 1986 turbo style with professionally made seat covers and new carpets. with black headlining. 1986 turbo style wheels were fitted. The original 1957 wheels are available as well.

Mechanically it is sound. all components in the engine bay ate in very good condition. Fan and cowling needs repainting and components need cleaning up Suspension. brake callipers. steering rack etc. all look sound.
I am ashamed to say the body has not faired to well. as can seen from the photos. to bring it back to its original 1957 shape will require 4 new wings and queer sills and drivers side door slam panel and repair to the leading edges of the boot lid and bonnet and drivers door skin. Estimated cost of all readily available panels is 4000 pounds. Although the car could be patched. filled and resprayed. it depends what quality you want to get it to.

These are fast appreciating classic cars and when fully restored will fetch a good return on your outlay
