PLEASE READ THE WHOLE LISTING:

I have described below every aspect of the car I can think of. and the listing is comprehensive and honest. If you have any questions about the car. or if you feel like you want to see it – please contact me before you put a bid in. You are welcome to view/drive the car by appointment before the listing ends. Please do not bid and then turn up to kick the tyres or to get money off.

SUMMARY:

The car has MOT till 3 April 2017. The car drives and pulls really well. Gear changes are fine and braking is very good.

It is a driveable classic. but it does need some TLC. and I would perhaps describe it as a working project car. mainly due to the bodywork (see later on in the listing and photos for details).

Also please bear in mind that the car is 26 years old.

ABOUT THE 944 S2:

https://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Porsche_944

In 1989 the 944S2 was introduced. powered by a 211 PS (155 kW; 208 hp) normally aspirated. dual-overhead-cam 16-valve 3. 0 L version of the 944S engine. With a bore of 104 mm (4. 1 in) and a stroke of 88 mm (3. 5 in). it was the largest production 4-cylinder engine of its time. [7] The 944S2 also received a revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 3. 0 L M44/41 powerplant. The 944S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. This was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper. where the fender and hood profiles would merge smoothly with the bumper. a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on the 1990 onward production cars. Performance was quoted as 0-60 mph in 6. 0 seconds (0–100 km/h 6. 8 s). with a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph) via manual transmission. A Club Sport touring package (M637) was also available. Dual air bags (left hand drive models). limited-slip differential and ABS were optional. Series 90 16-inch cast alloy wheels were standard equipment.

HISTORY:

-          MOT certificates going back as far 1998

-          Original service book and owner's manual

-          15 service stamps (primarily Porsche main dealer and Porsche specialist)

-          Timing belt changed at 70k and 93k

-          Stacks of paperwork dating back to 2003

-          HPI clear

INTERIOR:

Generally very good condition considering its age. The arm rest lid is broken and will need fixing. Aftermarket stereo has been fitted. Windows and mirrors work fine.

Porsche script on the seats.

Two keys and two immobiliser fobs present.

EXTERIOR:

This is probably the part that needs most TLC. To get up to perfect standard. it would benefit from a full respray at some point due to a few areas of rust bubbling through. Of note are two around the windscreen. the top of the windscreen (the roof) and both wings. Both sills have been done. but they could probably do with being done again within the next few years You might get away with touchups on these areas alone. Wheels are original and appear to be in good condition.

All tyres are good with approx. 5-7mm all round.

MECHANICAL:

I am not a mechanic and have not had the car fully inspected by a Porsche specialist or by any other mechanic. You are welcome to do your own inspection. The car appears to drive well. brake well. and changes gear fine. The engine is smooth and there are no rattles. knocks. smoke etc. Temp and oil pressure appear to be fine.

Sometimes when cold there is a very slight noise from the clutch when not engaged (i. e. it goes away when you put the clutch pedal down and doesn't appear to be there at all when warm). It is not all the time. and you have to listen for it. The clutch does not slip and the gears change with no problem or crunching. I don't think there is a problem. but worth mentioning in the interest of transparency.
