PONTIAC FIREBIRD 1979

For sale due to move and no money to repair as insurance I paid for day of accident wasn't valid till day after so couldn't claim. nbsp;I discovered.

PONTIAC FIREBIRD ESPRIT  REDBIRD. 3. 8 v6. Formally a Antwerp Show car for 2 yrs when new. shipped to uk 81 to London. (hence prefix X) This car was one of only 2428 redbird models (mostly v8 s )built with this top of the line spec and only produced for one year with the 4 headlights. this was a Europe export model hence v6 . My former wife and I spent 4 yrs and 18k restoring this classic . nbsp;I was getting her ready for a show. ast year. nbsp;took her for a spin . and did just that in the rain due to brake fading from standing for winter in garage. Well good news was I didn't get hurt. just hit a small tree backwards. slow. it bent the wing and boot. crumpled boot floor  in one place only . cracked windscreen and bent drivers seat back. (seat will want welding) but rest of car is ok. (pic shows door open) . here is no damage to door or anything forward of rear wing one side. . nbsp;had it inspected and no damage was done underneath. except fuel tank filler pipe may have been dislodged as sign of seepage. needs looking at. ank will have to be removed anyway to repair other damage. .  . ill need pulling jig to straighten where impact was. which was right on bumper bracket. see photos. for more info call me on 07889049934 nick any inspection welcome.   car runs perfect and still drives but brake master needs replacing.

WHAT WAS DONE IN RESTORATION.

To much to list . but where do you start. Well completly rebuilt V6 3. 8 engine . nc new internals cost 4k doubling its original hp. only just run in less than 1000 miles. lso with a new  290 cfm 4 barrel  holly carb. nbsp; . new custom s/s exhausts cost 800. She sounds great. ell roars . new rear  adjustable rear air shocks. rebuilt suspension inc rear springs and all bushes. ecent full body respray . new headlining and carpet . nbsp;new decals . ecent tyres. tc . plus she comes with  lots of spare parts. inc a gearbox.

As you can see from first pictures she was immaculate. last 4 pics show rear quarter damage. bumper dented/wing bent/lights broken. Well good news is I had 2 quotes and have said its fixable. and better still I went and bought all the bits to fix it inc a rear quarter if required /bumper/boot floor. and lucky I had the original rear lights stored.  It will need a new windscreen. s was cracked in crash (I have details of glass supplier) . oss boot lid. ay be repairable. nbsp;I have a replacement ctr spoiler . he spoiler ends are ok. (plus I have (1 pair spare also)

Other parts new ready to fit are . new brake master cylinder and a new heater matrix . s existing one burst last year. (didn't change then as only used in summer months for shows and odd days out. )

I have masses of info on this car which I will include . nc books. anuels . rochures. lots of spare parts . used to take her to shows. and I have list of all previous owners etc .

had car valued before engine rebuild at 8k in 2008  and 11-13k after completion. and that was then. repairs estimated between 1500-3k depending on garage. so you wont loose money repairing it.
