For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is a 1966 Shelby Cobra Replica. If you are looking for the most thrilling 4 wheel experience you can get. the Cobra Roadsters are hard to beat. The recipe is simple: lightweight fiberglass body. no frills interior. a big displacement V 8. manual transmission. and two rear tires clinging on for dear life. The brainchild of the near mythical Carol Shelby. the A/C Cobra’s remain legends of the car world and are some of the most replicated vehicles on the planet. This Cobra is covered in a very cool vinyl wrap that has the look of a brushed aluminum finish with classic dual wide blue racing stripes. The blue stripes continue through the passenger compartment. and the roll bar. side vents. and Halibrand style wheels are all painted blue to match. The gray cloth interior is a subtle as a Cobra can get. and goes well with the brushed aluminum look of the exterior. Black side pipes top off the timeless look. and they are covered in custom fabricated heat shields. Of course. the big question is what kind of motor hides under that deceptively long hood. Lift the lid and you find the beating heart of any proper Cobra build: a Big Block Ford V 8. This one in particular is a 428 with dual Holley 750 cfm 4 barrel carburetors. The motor is fresh off a rebuild. and ready to end the lives of the brand new BF Goodrich tires. All of that power causes a lot of heat. which is why there is a new aluminum radiator and oil cooler installed on this serpent. Putting the power down to the ground is done via a 4 speed Toploader transmission spinning a Ford 9 in. posi rear end. Coil-over shocks at all four corners and a Mustang II front end with rack and pinion steering handle the twisty sections. while 4 wheel disc brakes are ready when you inevitably find yourself going too fast.
