Up for sale is my 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400.

This car is a true. survivor California "barn find". It was stored in 1989 in a garage in California when I bought it in 2006. I have the original California license plate from 1989. the California emissions window sticker. and a PHS certified copy of the window sticker showing it was sold in California. I drove it on and off until 2010. made some tasteful updates. and then stored it again for the past 6 years in a barn in central New York. This is an original. rust free California car with original paint. interior. and drive-train. It is a YS code 400 Pontiac motor with 330 hp and the Turbo-hydromatic 400 Transmission. It has 53. 00 miles on it. It is PHS certified. I will provide all paperwork from 2006 including PHS documents. copy of window sticker. and receipts for all work performed. I have done my best to preserve it's originality. yet make it as fun to drive and own as possible. Over the past few months. I have rebuilt the rear differential which is a 3. 55 Posi-traction rear. and rebuilt the Rochester 4 barrel quadra-jet carburetor. The car runs and drives amazingly.

My goal was to keep it as original as possible. yet be able to enjoy it's performance. Here's what I have done over the years:

- Added the rear spoiler in 2007. I've always liked the look on the 2nd Gen body style.
- Replaced entire exhaust system in 2007 (Pypes) with original factory single muffler. but dual exhaust with proper tips. I also added Ram Air 3 exhaust manifolds. I have the original 400 exhaust manifolds.
- Upgraded the suspension 2010. Installed Hotchkis performance sway bars. front springs and rear leaf springs. and front and rear Eibach shocks. The handling is now superb! I have the original suspension.
- Rebuilt the Rear Differential in 2016.
- Rebuilt the Rochester Carburetor in 2016

You will notice the paint is not perfect but looks great from a short distance. It does have small dings. and paint touch ups as well as a patch on the drivers rear quarter where the paint was removed. The car is rust free and there is no bondo or filler. The trunk. quarters. door jambs are all rust free and solid. The front hood was repainted before I bought it but looks good. The rear spoiler and front lower valence were painted in 2007. You can decide if you want to paint it or drive it as is. The interior is original and amazing with only a 4" tear in the seam of the drivers seat and missing seat belts at the top. The headliner is in great shape and the dash does not have any cracks and is in excellent shape. Tires are at full tread bought in 2010. She runs and drives great.

As a Pontiac enthusiast. you know how hard a clean 1970 Firebird is too find. much less an original rust free Formula 400. The new owner will not be disappointed! I tell it like it is. my last sale was a 1987 Porsche 911 which I sold to a Porsche Service Manager in 2013. He was thrilled.

Good luck bidding and thank you for your interest!!
