1970 ROADRUNNER 383 4 SPEED AIR GRABBER HOOD TIC TOC TACH . FENDER TAG AND BUILD SHEET

COMPLETE RESTORATION. 3. 55 SURE GRIP. ALL NUMBERS MATCHING & DATE CODE CORRECT

You are bidding on a Completely Restored all numbers matching 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 cubic inch factory 4speed and Air Grabber hood option. I have the original build sheet and fender tag. This car is all date coded correct.  I purchased this car 4yrs ago as a project to fix up with the intention of keeping it. I have had over 50 Mopar's and 5 of those have been 1970 Roadrunners.

When I purchased this car. what I was looking for was a car that was rare.  but not absurdly expensive. For example a Hemi car or a V – code car (440 -6) which is 30-40% more.

This is a highly optioned Roadrunner with all the bells and whistles. I purchased the car with the intention of it needing an entire restoration.   It had a great foundation to start with. This is an all numbers matching car and its all date code correct which means the motor. transmission. exhaust manifolds and carb. and radiator etc are all original to the car.  It also still had its original build sheet and fender tag.  The motor had never been rebuilt and the car had just over 100K original miles on it.   It has always been a California car. It was built in Los Angles and I purchased it in Irvine. CA. I live in Northern California.

This car has gone through a no expense spared restoration with almost $40. 00 in Receipts which does not include the 400+ Man hours it took to put it together. At a normal shop rate of $100  an hour that would be $40. 00 in labor. This was a full restoration down to every nut and bolt. I have a three inch binder of every receipt  since I started the restoration. This binder of receipts will come with the car.

This car has less than 14 Miles on it since the restoration was completed.

For me the fun part is tearing down and tracking down all the parts and restoring it. Once this sells I will start work on another project I have.

If you are trying to find what the current market value is of this car look at these two links which gives a current value: of Over $50. 00

I would say this car is somewhere between a #1 and a #2 car. I have my reserve price set accordingly.

In my mind a #1 car is never driven is perfect in every way and belongs in a museum.   This car is just about there but I prefer to drive my cars.

COLLECTOR CAR MARKET REVIEW-$50. 50 http://www. buyclassiccars. com/offsite. asp?site=http://collectorcarmarket. com/menus/makes. html

My Reserve is priced very reasonable. Its difficult to find a comparable car to this car. My car is investment grade and it has all the documentation to go along with it.

Another 1970 Roadrunner just sold here on ebay for 36K that did not have a quite as an extensive restoration and it was an original 383 car that someone put a 440-6 in and they did not have the original motor or build sheet.

The lack of build-sheet and original motor really detracts from the value of these cars.

EXTERIOR

The bare shell of a car was taken to American Stripping Company here in Sacramento and the car was media blasted inside and out (including all the underside).

It was taken down to bare metal so I could see what exactly I was working with. It was $2. 00 to just have the car completely media blasted.

Upon competition of stripping. the car was immediately taken and primed as to avoid rusting. A factory style undercoating was also professionally applied.

All the paint and body work were done by a 20+ yr experienced painter.  The trunk floor had some pin hole rust. so an entirely new two piece floor Pan from AMD was installed using the factory spot weld location and done by a professional.

You could not tell from inside the trunk or below this was every done. It looks completely factory.    AMD Patch panels were also installed on the quarter panels in the normal location where these typically start to Rust.

The same story here once the patch panels were installed the inside of the trunk was re sprayed with the factory sound undercoating and you cannot tell they were ever replaced.

The car is sprayed in PPG . Its a beautiful two stage paint job. Two color coats and three coats of clear. The car was painted its original color EF8 IVY Green Metallic along with the Factor Black Organsol Stripe on the hood.

After paint. the car was cut and buffed and all new factor decals were applied to the car including: new Roadrunner and Dust Trail down the side and black Roadrunner stripe on the Tail of the car.

The car was also treated to all new Factor Decals in the Engine bay and Trunk. (All the radiator and timing and emission sticker and the Jack sticker in the trunk.

All the Stainless steel window trip and for the grill was professionally polished to a mirror like finish.

All the bumpers and door Handles were Re-chromed and new bumper eyebrows were installed. The car has new Front and Rear Turn signal Lens and Fog lights.

All the exterior parts were Re-chromed down to the lug nuts on the Rally wheels. The Front Grill was re-sprayed with the correct Argent Silver Paint and re-installed.

The factory jack & Hook was media blasted and restored.

INTERIOR

The entire inside of the car was gutted and restored.   The entire inside of the car including the roof had Dyna Mat installed for heat and sound deadening.   It smells like a new car inside.

1). New wiring installed throughout the entire car which is a exact reproduction of the original.   New Air Grabber Switch and Solenoid.

2. ) The heater box was taken apart and rebuilt. It has a all new heater core and all new seals.

The exhaust studs which Chrysler put through the water jacks in the front and rear on the heads Is weeping a little bit of coolant which is typical until the car had been heat cycled and the studs expand and seal up the engine.

Its has gotten better each time I have driven the car and its barely had a drip of coolant now.
