1983 FORD CAPRI INJECTION - Cosworth Bob engine - LSD - Banded steels - MOT'ed for sale

1983 FORD CAPRI 2. 8 I - COSWORTH BOB ENGINE
Up for sale is my Ford Capri 2. 8 i fitted with a Cosworth BOB engine.
It is still down as a 2. 8 Injection on the logbook.
The current milage is 64100 miles but this may rise as I am still using the car.
It also has MOT until April next year and is ready to be driven away.
The Cosworth engine is mated to the original type 9 5 speed gearbox.
There is a slight whine sometimes but handles the power well and is suited well enough for motorway driving.
The cooling system uses the original Capri 2. 8 radiator and has a thermostatic fan switch fitted to bring in the fan mounted in front of the radiator. The engine runs on a Cosworth BOA management system and is mated to the original Capri 2. 8 Exhaust system. The cats are empty and the EGR valve is deleted too.
Up front it has the original Bilstein suspension fitted and has some polybushes in the lower arms. All the brakes on the front are more or less new and have drilled and grooved vented discs. The calipers themselves appear new too. The car has the original strut top strengthening plates fitted too.
The rear axle is a proper Ford LSD unit with single leaf springs and incorporates a full rear axle brace.
Citroen Banded steel wheels are fitted all round - 9" on the rear with 205 50 15 tyres that are new ish and 8" on the front with 195 50 15 tyres on the front. Again these are new ish.
The interior is Recaro Seats front and back out of a fiesta turbo with the back seat modified to fit.
The door cards look like Laser items - yes I know they are not original - but they are still comfy non the less.
The car is quite solid but does have problems in the usual areas like door bottoms. arches. end of wings and behind the rear wheels. Please see the pictures. There is nothing that isn't repairable. The jacking points on the front are crushed as usual and there may be a small section of welding require for the next MOT on the passengers floor.
The scuttle area. sunroof. inner wings. strut tops etc are in very good order.
The car comes with some history and the Last MOT certificate backs up the milage.
Summary:
Good points: Cosworth BOB conversion 15" Banded steel wheels LSD rear axle with axle brace and single leaf springs Bilstein Front legs with newish brakes upfront MOT till April 201764100 miles
Bad points: Slight whine from the gearbox sometimes Rattle from what sounds like a tappet on cold startup but last approx. 1 second. Every other startup after that is quiet and oil pressure is good. Small blow from the exhaust somewhere. Small rust issues as listed above The rear banded steels catch the arch over harsh bumps or with weight in the rear - Ideally wants the arches rolling when they are repaired. Laquer peel on the roof and bootlid.
Overall a good solid car with a long MOT that can be enjoyed everyday like I am!
