MGTF 1954 1250cc Restoration project for sale
Current customer rating: (396 votes ) based onFor sale 1954 MGTF 1250cc. Requiring restoration. This car was owned by my late uncle during the late 60's and was taken off the road in 1970 and sent to Naylor Brothers (MG restoration specialists) for restoration work. Unfortunately during this period my uncle was killed in a motorbike race and the car ownership passed on to my father. From memory and from what I can glean from the extensive amount of correspondence and receipts which we have it was in Naylor Brothers possession for some three years whilst they carried out extensive restoration. At the time my father had a young family and only had the funds to take the restoration so far and had it in mind to finish the final stages himself.
In 1973 he collected the car from Naylor brothers and stored the semi restored vehicle in his garage. It was always a project he was going to get round to “when the kids are a bit older” or “when I retire” . Unfortunately he never did get around to it and there it stands in his garage still as it was some 40 years ago. The garage where it is stored is dry and as you can see from the photo's the majority of the car is primed in grey although over the years this has become mottled with some surface rust. I have lots and lots of original receipts. all the correspondence from Naylor's listing in detail the works already carried out. photographs of the car in its heyday.
I know that the leather hood isn't with the vehicle any longer. I unfortunately don't know if there are any other bits missing but I believe it's probably 95% complete.
It is now sadly time to sell the car as my father passed away four years ago and my Mum has had enough (after 40 years !) of it taking up garage space.
I have no idea what the car is worth in its current state but after some research I see that they sell for anywhere between £25. 00 and £35. 00 when fully refurbished.
I have taken a few photo's of receipts and paperwork and they can be viewed at :

Viewing is more than welcome and I am starting the bidding at 99p I have set the reserve at a figure that I feel to be realistic and if it does not reach this figure I will take a view as to whether to offer it to the highest bidder.
A £100 deposit is acceptable via Paypal but balance to be paid by cash. cheque or bank transfer.
