1952 GMC pick up. Hotrod Ratrod. 327 chevy V 8 with th 400 auto

MOT exempt and TAX free.
Nice solid example of a GMC pick up. This truck is very solid with all original floors and body having lived all its life in the dry western state of Colorado. There has been no welding i can see it having ever had or needing. The body has some of the most extreme patina ive ever seen. My friend described it as paint by mother nature. I would say the majority of the original paint has been baked off by years in the high desert sun giving it that genuine patina only mother nature can achieve.
The engine is a 327 chevy v 8 which runs really well. This is fitted to what i was told a th 400 automatic gearbox which is selected by a floor shift B&M shifter. The box shifts well with lots of power. The rear axle im told is 1965 which gives it the higher gearing required for motorway work. The engine is fed by a big eldelbock carb and is fitted with a nice sounding custom big bore twin exhaust system complete with H pipe. Electrics are fed by an alternator conversion and are 12 volt. It also has good working electric wiper conversion and all the lights etc seem to work fine.

Even though the body is rat look the interior is all replaced. She has a newly upholstered seat. new headliner card. door panels and carpet. The interior also has a new period heater fitted and a new reproduction radio that fits in the original dash looking period but having a input jack so you can play an ipod etc with speakers hidden under the seat.
The wheels are older slot mag style being wider at the rear giving that mean look.

Couple of odd jobs are still needed. The bed wood is old so you might want to replace that at some point. Its currently lined over the top with a full size big thick piece of steel with the same surface rust look which looks great to me but may not be to everybodys taste. There is a small rust hole on one step but thats the only hole i can find. The handbrake doesnt hold as good as it should and most of the dash gauges are currently not working so need looking at. These are the only faults i can think of right now.
The guy i got this truck off used it as his daily driver. It drives fine for an old truck as most especially the original six pots are like driving vintage tractors. Saying this its a 1952 truck so wont drive like a new transit. This is a rare find as it has patina but not rusted out like most and has that V 8 power and sound.

This is a reluctant sale but i have too many toys and not enough time.
