No reserve auction. High bidder will win.

Please take the time to read this auction from beginning to end and to carefully watch the video and review the pictures. If you are a serious bidder. that should go without saying. This description is not meant to be all-inclusive by any means. but I'll be as detailed as I can. I have sold 5 of my personal classic Mustangs on eBay over the years and have had nothing but positive experiences; I want to keep it that way. I would prefer any interested bidders to inspect the car prior to bidding.

Please also check my feedback and bid with confidence. I have been on eBay for more than 15 years with more than 1. 00 positive transactions. dealing mostly in classic Mustang parts. 100% positive feedback.

Introduction:

You're looking at a very special Mustang. This is one of the very first ever built Mustang fastbacks. produced in November 1964. They don't get much earlier than this. What makes this car even more special. is that it's a factory C code 289 with a 4-speed. Usually the C code 289 cars have 3-speeds when they're manual cars.

This pony came from the factory as a Vintage Burgundy car. but is now very dark blue. It originally came with a red interior. and that has been kept the same.

It now has a factory 4V intake with a Holley carb. The Holley carb was rebuilt (I was told) just before I got it. I personally like Edelbrocks. but I'm sure a Holley fan will appreciate this carb. Sometimes you have to tap the gas to get it to stop sending fuel to the carb. And sometimes it whistles a little. I think there's a vacuum leak at the carb. I hadn't fixed it because I was going to replace with the Edelbrock and it doesn't affect drivability.

The body is straight overall. It's a good driver quality car. The paint looks good from a few feet away. But if you want a concourse show car. you'll need to paint it. There are some dings. a couple bubbles and a couple scratches. I got compliments everywhere I took it. You never see dark blue with red interior Mustangs. but it's truly a stunning combo.

·         It has newer SSBC Disc Brakes up front with a dual bowl MC and proportioning valve. The car stops very well. This was an expensive kit new.

·         It has a Flaming River steering box. This kit was also expensive.

·         It also has a heavy duty sway bar up front. just like the GTs.

It also appears as if the engine compartment wiring harness is newer. The blower motor for the heater was never hooked back up. Don't know why. I never bothered because I didn't drive it in the cold.

The car sits pretty low and looks mean with the 15” GT style wheels.

Mechanically. I don't think the car “needs” anything. I drive it all over the area and have had it on a couple 2-hour trips with no issues. I think it has had internal engine work done. as it seems peppier to me than other C code 289s I've owned. Bear in mind. I am not a mechanic.

With that said. I would not personally get in this car and drive it 14 hours. It's 50 years old.

All electrical components work to my knowledge. Horn. turn signals. brake lights. etc.

Radio delete plate. No radio. I use my iPhone.

I have a LOT of money and time invested in this awesome pony (close to $30. 00). If you're looking for a fastback to invest in. this is a unique one to have.

I am only selling this old girl because I need start-up capital for my business.

Average retail on this car is $35. 75. Concourse restored. you're looking at closer to $50k. I know it could use a little work here and there. so my start bid will be way lower. I have dealt in Fords and Mustangs (classics) for more than 15 years. so I know a lot about their values and history. This is my personal Mustang. and I am not a car dealer.

You will get all receipts for work I've had done.

New parts not installed. but included:

·         Complete leaf spring kit $300

·         RH and LH rear frame rail. partial sections $125

·         LH and RH trunk drop off sections $100

·         Exterior door handles $50

Things to note about this pony:

·         Rear frame rail section has rust on both LH and RH side where leaf spring mounts. This section will eventually need to be replaced. Parts included. The trunk section should be refinished to be really nice. There will need to be some metal work done around the trunk supports where the frame rails meet the trunk. I got a quote for $1. 00 for labor from a welder who has experience with classic cars.

·         I installed a small patch on very front of both LH and RH floor pans. To make it a show car. you'd want to put in correct stamped medal. Cosmetics weren't that important to me on the floor pans.

·         Rear leaf springs are old and worn out. Comes with new leaf springs to install.

·         Couple dings in body. Few light scratches. Couple bubbles here and there. Nothing horrible. Hood knicks the fender a little when it latches. Minor adjustment is necessary. Small dent where RH fender meets headlight trim. Could be popped out with paintless dent removal.

·         The odometer cable popped off after I re-installed the gauge bezel last summer. Currently inop. I use my Waze app for a speedo.

·         15" tires rub a little on tight turns or over speed bumps.

·         Driver's side window popped off track.

·         Turn signal cancelling cam wasn't installed when I put in the new steering wheel.

·         Some windshield wiper swipes on the glass. They may buff out.

·         Front seats are a little faded. but no rips or tears.

·         I removed the rocker panel moldings. They were screwed on. You may want to put new ones on. I personally like the cleaner look.
