Brown original MB-Tex interior is excellent and matching convertible top. This US version is fitted with all available options. including both hard top and soft top. factory air conditioning. power steering. power brakes. Becker AM/FM radio. as well as its original books. tools and service records. She has been been garaged her whole life and being from Nevada rust has never had a chance to start. All numbers are matching: engine. transmission. paint. interior. body number etcetera. Rare. virginal never been repainted trunk floor. original soft top. items that cannot be faked. Driven a total of just 69. 19 miles from new and drives exactly the way the engineers at Daimler Benz intended.
Inside our 280SL you will notice all trim and appointments are in excellent show quality. It retains its original look with the original plastic shift guide. steering wheel. console. guages. and radio. The door trims and switches are excellent and clean. free of any tears. The seats show in top condition as does the carpet throughout. The top is original and shows only minor wear spots in the material. The frame is rust free and moves smoothly. The trunk area is free of rust and solid. It is complete with the original spare. jacks. lug wrench. stud guide. and other roadside items. It retains its original rubber covering.
Under the hood sits the original motor in excellent running condition along with all of its original mechanicals. which includes the optional power steering. Recent service has been completed with an up to date oil change and fresh fuel. It fires up easily and idles nice and smoothly. The transmission shifts in and out of gears smoothly and there are no noticeable noises or vibrations. All lights are working properly. She is “Turn-Key” ready.
