3rd times a charm. first bidder didn't have enough cash for the bid and second bidder backed out when the car overheated (problem has since been fixed at a cost of $0. fan fail module was original. therefore fans were not kicking on)

1981. 5 speed. gray leather. no gas flap. nbsp;21. xx original miles and counting as I have been driving it for fun when the weather is nice (150 miles since purchase).

Although all original miles. the car was in California from 1983-2008. The sun has taken it's toll on the rubber and the interior.

Motor has less than 1. 00 miles on it since the head gaskets and upper end was rebuilt. The clutch was also gone through with a new slave cylinder from DMC Houston. Since the heads were redone there was a small engine fire from a coolant leak. The fire caused no serious damage but did leave some electrical tape cinged and the engine compartment service light housing is blackened. Other than that the car never stopped running and caused no serious issues.

Here's what's been done in past 1. 00 miles:

Replaced both door struts with new struts from DMC

Complete coolant flush and hose replacement as well as replaced original plastic reservoir with a stainless steel one.

Engine has been gone through having the heads resurfaced

Engine has new gaskets from heads. oil changed and new filter and pressure sensors added.

Complete tune-up with new wires. cap rotor etc.

Tranny has been flushed and clutch replaced and new gaskets were used.

Power Windows have been repaired and work well.

Interior:

 1. Drivers seat has a tear in it behind where your left shoulder rests. the tear had been glued back to the seat. but still needs repair. (A set of new factory original seat covers from DMC are $599)

2. The dash is cracked and faded from the sun and has a carpeted pad over it.  (A new dash panel from DMC is $299)

3. The shift boot for the 5 speed is loose. the leather is still in tact. just needs to be mounted to the console somehow

4.  The steering column itself feels as if it is low and wobbles around in the bushing. (feels like a tilt steering in low position. probably needs a new bushing?)

5. The windshield is cracked from the rearview mirror being knocked off. The crack runs from the roof down to the wipes and splits in two on it's way down. (A new windshield is $450)

6. Heater does not blow hot. could be an easy fix. from what I've read online. it's common and who needs heat in the south or in the summer? The otterstat is also bypassed so the fans runs constantly.

7. The weather stripping is cracked and faded from the CA sun ($260 for a weather strip kit)

8.  Aftermarket CD player does not power on.

9. AC seems to blow slightly cold. might just need to be charged

The car runs great and drives down the road nicely. The tires have like new tread on them and other than a few minor scratches and one pea sized ding on the driver fender. the body is as good as it gets for a 30 year old car. (front fascia has a little sun warpage if you really want to get picky. can only be noticed when sitting in the car. The left side vent to the rear of the louvers is missing and the left strut on the engine cover is not as strong as the right so it opens slowly favoring one side. The "DMC" on the front grille is also missing.

I think I've covered the car to the best of my ability with the limited experience I've had with it for the past month.

Please feel free to ask any questions and I would be more than happy to send pics.

The car is 30+ years old and will obviously have items I've missed. it's sold as-is with no warranty implied. Potential buyers are encouraged to contact me and arrange an appointment to check it out.

$500 non-refundable deposit due after auction end. Please do not come out here expecting to drive the car home unless you live a couple hundred miles away or less. The car is 30 years old and it's a Delorean. always expect something to go wrong and figure the local parts store won't have the part.

I can arrange pickup from my location and work with any shipping company. Payment via Cashiers check or money order. Prefer cash. Check must be verified before car leaves.
