CONDITION

Just out of a 2 years exhaustive nut & bolt restoration. it is like brand new. mint. and perfect condition. The engine runs perfect. transmission & 4x4 works great. It has got Power Take Off (PTO) winch and it works okay. The recorded mileage reading is not guaranteed. It shows just over 164. 000 kilometers.

4 pcs tires are brand new only cover few kilometers. Air conditioner is working. it does not have a heater system since we don't have winter season in Indonesia. It is equipped with Power assisted Steering.

Paint work was done perfectly like factory original quality. and it is shinning like a gold. The engine is 3000cc diesel Toyota B series original engine. It is registered in Indonesia and all the documents are complete.

Roof inner lining is genuine. steering wheel is genuine. inner door panel is genuine. front turn light assembly are brand new and genuine. stop lamp is genuine. seat are genuine. dashboard is genuine. only lower front passenger seat has been retrimmed with a new look alike cover.

I did the restoration myself. not literally with my own hand but I managed and organized it myself. I know a good paint shop. a good garage. and of course I have a taste to compile them altogether. I spend so much money for every single work done to this car. The quality of the job done in the car will speak for itself. as everything has to be the best and top quality. The paint brand was sikkens. The colour is dolphin blue and it is solid. as far I know there is no factory original colour which is metallic.

Nothing much I had done to the engine. because it is still in good condition. As far I remember I just replaced a brand new motor starter. all the v-belt. all the steering hydraulic hose. battery. master brake cylinder. and oil of course.

Engine sound for Diesel is of course louder than the gasoline version but you can still talk to someone while you are driving. No need to shout. In my opinion I am not seeing the engine noise an issue for me. I had been owning several BJ40 before this car and all the engine noise are the same & normal.

I never tried the maximum speed of this car. On the highway I normally drive 100km/h. I think 130km/h can still be reached. The best way to drive this car is driving it slowly and see all the heads turning at you/your car and give their thumb up because your car is in excellent condition.

To make sure that the condition meet your criteria. if necessary. you can appoint a third party to inspect or view the car in Jakarta on your behalf or it is recommended for you to view the car in person to Jakarta (you are more than welcome).

This is to avoid a misinterpreted condition from my side vs to your side. Because as we all know condition for second hand car is relative. Perfect from my point of view does not mean that perfect from your point of view as well. My standard to your standard might be different.

I have tried to describe the condition of my car as it is. For me the car is perfect and I have put photos as many as possible from different angle and very detail.

The car is running. and photos is exactly the same car with all the accessories similar to what is in the photos. PTO winch. steel wheel. hubcap. tire. etc. What I replaced just now (different from the photos) are just a brand new gear knob. brand new engine hood hook set. brand new motor starter. and a brand new battery. It is even better than the photos. It is BJ40 and the VIN number confirms this. It is not FJ40. B stands for diesel. F stands for gasoline. In my country the market value of diesel is much higher than the gasoline. I think because fuel consumption for the diesel is much better than the gasoline. And in Indonesia original transmission for gasoline is 3 speed while diesel is 4 speed. The 3 speed transmission has not got a syncronizer for the 1st gear so that you have to make a full stop before you can move the gear from 2nd to 1st. This is not the case for 4 speed transmission. So It is more comfortable & convenient driving a BJ40 diesel. that is why I prefer BJ40 to FJ40.

My car is the latest model for toyota 40series. The different between the older vs newer are the older version still got a rounded front grille. older steering wheel model with a rounded horn button. fuel tank still inside the cabin under the front seat. vertical rectangular fuel tank cap door. without a dashboard. without center steel panel under dashboard etc. Here in my country every latest edition for a car model get always higher market price.

It has power steering. air conditioner. PTO winch. free lock for the front R+L wheel. but it does not have radio/tape and heater.

Brand new front right left turn signal assembly. tail light. all the emblem. gear knob. mirror. exhaust system. battery. motor starter. etc

PTO winch had been rebuilt like a brand new condition and never been used since rebuilt.

If you want to build similar car yourself I reckon you would spend at least 6 months time.

I am not owning the car since brand new and I do not have any service history at all. What I replaced recently was just motor starter (brand new). battery (brand new). 4 tires (brand new). The car was built originally for Indonesian market. original RHD (Right Hand Drive). has never seen snow (--> or salt). not imported. Engine is never been swapped and still original from factory.

PAPERWORK

I have Certificate of Ownership (or V5C registration document in the UK) or BPKB (Bukti Pemilikan Kendaraan Bermotor) in Indonesia. Another document I have is STNK (Surat Tanda Nomor Kendaraan) which always has to be brought along the car and must be able to be shown to the police when it was asked. Perhaps STNK is more like a Tax Disc in the UK.

Of course I have all the BPKB and STNK. The VIN Number & Engine Number are matched with the document certificate. The car is completely legal.

The car is mine but I have not yet transferred the documentation/certificate of ownership to my name. The Regulation in Indonesia is a bit different from the other country. In here as long as you have the receipt of car transaction/payment then you can do the transfer at anytime. Maybe it is because there is no speed camera and stuff like that here. The downside is just you can only pay the car tax by showing the registered owners' national identity card. I know the previous owner very well he is a very good friend of mine so I don't have any problem with that. I can borrow his national identity card to be shown when paying the tax. If somehow in the exporting process we need to present this guy I guarantee he would be able to help. Nonetheless it would only take couple of days to do the car owner's name transfer.

OTHERS

Quote from HEMMINGS:

"The Toyota FJ40/BJ40 Land Cruiser will become the next Volkswagen 21-Window Samba bus. In the past three years. prices for restored Volkswagen buses have shot through the roof. with the rarest examples consistently realizing six-figure prices at auction. A similar phenomenon is beginning to happen with Toyota FJ40 Land Cruisers; once a rare sight at high-end auctions. their presence has become expected. and prices for well-preserved or meticulously restored examples have risen accordingly. I wouldn't be surprised at all if an exceptional FJ40 topped $100. 00 at auction in 2014"

I am a genuine seller. this is not a scam.

I have learned that used car can be imported into the UK from watching "Wheeler Dealer" TV Show. This might be your one and only chance to own this car at this condition.

You are more than welcome to inspect/view in person to Jakarta. Indonesia. I can pick you up at the airport. The return ticket with Emirates would be about £750. Or if you have friends or someone you know well in Jakarta please ask him to inspect the car. I would be happy to drive the car to your friend's home to be inspected if you want.

If you need to appoint third party to inspect the car this link might help. please get in touch. They have representative office in Indonesia.

They might have the service you need.

PAYMENT

we can use escrow. com as long as the term of clearing payment is fair for both of us.
I propose we can set the term like a regular Letter of Credit where payment must be able to be released after I submit a Bill of Lading. so I don't have to wait until the car is delivered to you / reach your country.

You can choose the carrier/shipping agent yourself. So I think this carrier will be a party which is on your side. Once I hand over the car to this carrier then the car will be on your side. To be honest I never use escrow. com. I am not sure they can accommodate this.

So this is step by step that I propose:

1. You make sure that the car meet your criteria. by photos or video or ask someone you know to view on your behalf.

2. Deal on the price

3. Set an escrow / Letter of Credit with the term of payment clear after Bill of Lading

4. You choose your own carrier/shipping agent (I recommend the one which has representative office in Jakarta)

5. I drive the car to your carrier office/the port and hand over the car to the carrier/shipping agent. take a photos and send it to you or ask the carrier guy to make sure if the car the same as in the advert.

6. I pay all the cost in the origin port side (cost to make it on board) as the final price is FOB

7. I get the Bill of Lading

8. I receive the payment by submitting the Bill of Lading

You need to pay a deposit of GBP 1000 after the auction ends. If somehow later we face a problem with the exporting procedure (in Indonesia side) then I will give full refund of the deposit. Refund/payment can not be made if the problem arise in your country side (so please make sure that importing this car in to your country is permitted before you commit to buy)

I reserve the right to end the auction earlier!!!

for USA: the day a car turns 25 years old. it's legal to import. with no restrictions at all. please check and confirm

The final price is FOB Jakarta. I have got the quotation from local shipping agent and they will take care all the administration and everything until the container on board on my behalf. I will pay all the cost until the car on board at Tanjung Priok Port (Jakarta)

The costs which are excluded (you must pay yourself) are only the ocean freight cost + destination charge & registration in your country (for UK about £1000. refer to quotation from shipmycar. co. uk)
.  I can help arrange the ocean freight at your cost if you want

I have asked Ministry of Trade Indonesia and Directorate General of Custom Indonesia. nbsp;they said exporting used car out of Indonesia is permitted. hence there should be no problem whatsoever to export used car out of Indonesia. You can buy with confidence and peace of mind

I found an advert the other day. Please check this link :

I dont want to comment about this car's condition. One thing interesting is that the car was imported from Bali. Indonesia (Please read all the description). currently this car is in the UK. So I just want to show you that exporting car from Indonesia is possible. That is all.

Quotation from local shipping agent for delivery to UK is as follows:
-----------------

PRICING :

Estimated Ocean Freight  Jakarta - UK ( Felixtowe Port or Southampton Port of Discharges ) port to port:
USD 2900/ 40
--> my comment: container is too big 40ft. 20ft is enough. Plus it is more expensive than quote from worldfreightrates. com because it includes profit margin for the forwarder I think.

9. Trucking / JKT Area to Tanjung Priok Port. of Jakarta = Rp. 3. 50. 00  ( Trailer 40'  Flat Rack Trucking )
-----------------

The one which is buyer's responsibility from that quotation is just the Ocean Freight Jakarta - UK (port to port) which turns out to be USD2900 (or £2000) for 40ft container and also the destination charge & registration in the UK ( about £1000) .

I believe 20ft container can be used or even RORO ferry if available can also be used. with of course a lot cheaper.

I repeat the final price is Free on Board (FOB) at Tanjung Priok Port. Jakarta Indonesia

As comparison I also got a quotation from www. Shipmycar. co. uk and choosing Malaysia (Klang) as the departure port and it gave me £3500 for total shipping cost (more expensive because includes the departure port cost & insurance) and £1000 for destination charge including registration. MOT. MPH speedometer conversion. rear foglamp fitment. etc. It doesnt give me option to choose Indonesia so I chose Malaysia considering it was the closest to Indonesia. It wouldn't be much different. Please find the shipping quotation below.

I can help arrange all the shipping for you unless you have your own deal!!!

It is buyers responsibility to check whether it can be imported to buyer's country

RETURN

I can not accept return since once the car is exported then it can not be re-imported because it is prohibited to import a used car in to Indonesia. We can only export a used car.

It is against the law to import a used car into Indonesia. this is the reason why I cannot accept return. We can only export. So even if you pay return shipping it just doesn't work out. Indonesian government protects local car manufacturer industry. if they let used car from abroad come in then less people buy a new car and it will lower new car sales --> negative effect to the industry.
