It's a 1957 Morris Minor with a 948cc engine. I found this car in an old garage of a house I am working on and have spent time and money bringing it back to life. When I found it. it was in the garage with junk cluttered around and on top of it and was in a sorry old state. It was however on inspection. a very solid car so I took a chance ( see pics 11& 12 after I bought it back ).
Now for it's history up until I found it in September 2015. It was last on the road in 1986. judging by the tax disc in the windscreen and I have no reason not to believe this judging by the wildlife under the bonnet. The V5 showed one owner from new as verified by the keepers ( no longer here) grandson. He bought it from the well known Beadles garage in Dartford  on June 1st 1957 according to the BMC service book which is stamped up to 27000 miles. Unfortunately I do not have the original bill of sale but it may yet turn up as I am still working there.
I will briefly describe what work I have done but this will not be comprehensive as I could go on forever and it will be boring. Sandblasted and painted the underside in top coat colour. not horrible thick underseal. This car has never been welded underneath and was solid with only surface corrosion so I saw no reason to go mad after 59 years survival so just wanted to give it some protection and tidy it up.  Replaced every item pertaining to the brakes including pipes. Replaced the carpets but kept the originals as templates for future as aftermarket ones just don't seem to fit as nicely. The seats had been covered from new and were amazing so I just leather treated and cleaned them. The fuel  tank was flushed and cleaned many times and a filter added in case.  Fuel lines replaced where needed. The engine was serviced and flushed with a new water pump and valve stem oil seals  and compression tested. All cylinders were reading 155-160psi. The brakes were treated to a new master cylinder and gearbox oil topped up. It still has three of it's original tyres and one that is not quite so old; probably suffered a puncture in about 1962. Please save the safety lectures. Some will understand why I have left them on. When I dragged the car from the garage. all tyres were still inflated. It's probably 1957 air. Bumper blades front and back were replaced with two new over riders and bumpers sprayed. That's the main part of the work but it has taken months so it is not a comprehensive list as anyone who has resurrected a car will tell you.
The intention was never to restore this car to as new but to sympathetically bring it back to life by keeping as much of the original stuff as possible but freshen up the parts and bodywork that made it look miserable. I haven't done this before and it's a difficult path to tread as everyone has different views. Some of the bodywork I have tidied up as in some areas someone had started a couple of repairs about thirty odd years ago judging by how hard it was to get the old masking tape off.
All in all it's a solid local car with a rare amount of history and a condition that belies it's 59 years. I have spent many hours and much money and the intention was never to keep it but to save it as it's future didn't look good when I found it; and  pass it on for someone to enjoy or take it to the next level.
Please contact me via ebay and I will give you my number for more details.
Minors seem difficult to price and I have looked at a lot so have priced it according to it's history and condition but I am open to reasonable negotiations as I need to make the space and recoup some money.
