In 1969. Zagato produced the exquisitely styled GT 1300 Junior
Z. a completely new design to anything that had preceded it. By
fitting the standard production Alfa Romeo 1290cc twin cam engine
and five speed gearbox into the body. built upon a Zagato
space-frame. constructed for lightness and strength. the Junior Z
not only looked good but also performed well with a top speed of
109mph being achieved. The individualistic design meant a high
price resulting in only 1500 units being manufactured.

We are delighted to offer a wonderful and rare example of the
Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato that has covered only 8. 69km since a
complete ground up restoration. The car was first registered in the
UK in 1979/80 and was purchased by the current owner from David
Muriel in January 2003.

The JZ was completely stripped and finished in Bonda primer. br/>cellulose primers and top coats and protected with Dinitrol anti-
corrosion products. The restoration included a rebuilt 2 litre
engine. gearbox. back axle and brakes with the original 1300cc
engine. gearbox and front hub carriers included in the sale. The
car is also fitted with a tubular manifold. adjustable top
suspension arms. Koni classic adjustable shock absorbers. screw
type brake balance adjuster. electronic ignition. electric fuel
pump. electric fan. new prop shaft. reconditioned steering box and
Alfaholics GTA wheels fitted with Goodyear Eagle tyres. The
interior boasts re-trimmed leather. new carpets and rubber mats and
a new windscreen and two steering wheels are supplied; the original
and a Fusina leather item. The completed car was finished in May
2010 and it won its first Concours in September at the National
Alfa weekend and also won the Concours for Zagato bodied cars at
National Alfa day in 2011. Concours were not really to the owner's
liking; the owner enjoyed the JZ for the driver's car that it is
and has had several trips to France including a tour to Angouleme
for the Circuit des Remparts and Dijon. for the Grand Prix de L'Age
D'or. Supplied with a V5C. a valid MoT certificate. handbook. br/>restoration photographs and invoices. these period coach built
motor cars are becoming more and more sought after. What better way
to enter such ownership than with this beautifully styled Italian
motor car which is available at a very reasonable estimate.
