1937 Alvis 4. 3 Litre Vanden Plas Style Drophead.

Presented in concours condition. This Alvis 4. 3 Litre was rebodied in the current rakish Vanden Plas design around the year 2000 by noted coach builders Wilkinsons of Derby.

At this time a concours restoration was undertaken with each & every part of the car being fuly rebuilt & renewed. A new cylinder block & head were sourced. the gearbox rebuilt. new pistons fitted. a new wiring loom fitted. both axles rebuilt. the radiator re-cored. etc etc etc.

The car having resided in a noted collection is in concours order throughout. The paintwork is a metallic aubergine colour & is complimented by pale grey lether to the interior & matching carpets. The dashboard is of machine turned aluminium & carries its full compliment of instruments. Under the bonnet the engine is detailed to show standards & is a credit to the restorers showing off the triple carburetor set up to its best advantage.

On the road the car is smooth powerful & capable of over 100 miles per hour; no mean feat for a pre war vehicle. The gear box is a delight to use with synchromesh on all four gears. The car epitomises the pre war grand tourer & makes a much faster & more sporting alternative to a derby Bentley.
