Toyota Celica LT 1973 2D Coupe Manual 3TGTE in QLD

SELLING TA22 CELICA UNREG AS IS. REGO HAS RUN OUT CAN NOT BE TEST DRIVEN NOW. SELLING UNREG. UNROADWORTHY IN AS IS CONDITION. RUNNING 3TGTE TURBO ENGINE WITH INTERCOOLER & BLOW OFF VALVE WITH MOD PLATES. SUSPENSION STANDARD but has a lot of nolathane bushes throughout. BRAKES STANDARD but now have become a bit spongy from car sitting. Turbo standard.

Wife says its got to go. TA22 celica project car is complete but needs a lot of TLC. Does run but at the moment runs very rough. pretty sure the fuel has gone stale as it's been sitting for a while. Fuel pump needed tapping. elec pump locked up. to get car where it is now. Found a rats nest under the bonnet as it was in the backyard. but other than rat poo here and there can't see any damage.


Problems I can remember as it has been a while since on the road:
On highway engine has a pulling back feel. comes and goes a lot. stuttering like its not getting enough fuel or something. recommend dyno tune on this car as it has a lot of power to give.
Dent in roof drivers side. size of a 50 cent piece.
Small dent on bonnet and another RHF corner. around RH door handle. there are more smaller ones elsewhere but I'm not going to list them all.
Rust in boot area(see pics). and inside of bonnet(hinges area see pics). small spot front of bonnet(external) and starting to show on passenger door right down low. I'm not aware of any other rust but there maybe more that I'm not aware of.
No catalytic converter fitted
Front seats are out of a RA28. with TA22 seat rails. and have a couple of holes in. seat covers are fitted. but have holes in also. to match rear upholstered seats.
Glove box is gone. no lid or insert in place. has been removed so its all open. Previous owner did this.
All wiring under glove box area is messy and loose this is where the ECU is. needs organising maybe even some re-wiring.
Has tinted windows but has sections removing/peeling/scratched.
Ignition is now in the centre of dash. not on column. but the original barrel is still there.
Has aftermarket mirrors fitted RH base screw thread is stripped.
Centre console is not factory and is in 2 pieces. Front section from a RA40 and rear section not sure.
Rear screen chrome trimming missing.
All other chrome trims are there but some sections have small dents on.
No stereo in car but has rear Kenwood speakers.
There are rust areas on the chrome dragways. all of them. they may come off with some attention.
Looks like. according to the Mod plate codes its had a brake & seat belt conversion. as well as the engine conversion. The brake one I think its just had RA28 frt calipers fitted and the seat belt one it had racing seats with racing belts which are no longer fitted.


Items fitted:
Sunroof which does leak sometimes.
Has car alarm/immobilizer fitted.
Has central locking fitted.
Fitted with EA falcon Bosch 85Amp alternator. easy mod I found on Toymods.
Battery position is located in the boot. but no battery is supplied with sale. with thick cabling to engine bay.
13 inch dragways with Yokohama 205/60 x 13" tyres.
3 inch exhaust. use to have a straight through rear canon muffler but I changed it to a sports one to lower the noise level. in doing this I have lost a lot of power.
Has turbo boost gauge. there is vacuum lines in place for adjusting wastegate operation but I disconnected them.
Blow off valve pumps straight back into intake so if you like the blow off noise you will need to modify.
Has turbo timer fitted.
There is some wiring for a stereo in car.
Dash stereo area is filled with two gauges oil pressure and temperature.
Electric cooling fan thermostatically controlled and adjustable.
Dash pad is in good condition.
