Custom built. Pro-Touring style. upgraded and restored classic 1972 Chevelle.  
This is not a numbers matching "collector" car; it is a serious. hardcore. modernized muscle car with improved drivetrain. suspension. and brakes.  
The details:

Motor: 388 cu. in. Chevy small block stroker (est. min. specs 425 HP. 450 lb-ft. ). Light weight. tons of power! Modelled on the "Nasty Stroker" engine combo from Car Craft magazine. Oct '97. p. 61.
Built by Ron and Dwayne at Precision Valve and Crank from a 350. 4 bolt main block. bored 0. 30" over. with a 6" stroke 400 crank. 5. 7" stress relieved and polished GM rods. Keith Black Hyperutectic pistons. TFS Twisted Wedge alum. Heads w/ 10. 5:1 compression ratio. Fluidamnper (externally balanced). Crane hydraulic roller cam (mildly aggressive. max. 5500 RPM. but also very drivable). hardened push rods (custom lengths for proper valve geometry)  and guide plates. all ARP hardware. 1. 5 ratio aluminum roller rockers. Edelbrock Q-Jet #1910 carb. dual plane Weiand #8004 intake. MSD electronic distributor. MSD 6AL ignition. 2-piece timing cover. block was stress relieved. has oil system screen kit installed and was glyptol painted (to seal in casting sand). Also has 8 qt. wide profile oil pan with M55 high volume oil pump. windage tray. gear reduction starter. cold air intake. K&N air filter. Functional emissions system; no missing parts (car has previously been able to pass AirCare testing. but it is not currently air-cared due to licensed out of town).

Transmission: 4-speed auto (overdrive) TH700R4 (professionally built with upgraded components). and custom aluminum drive shaft. Torque converter lock up is manually controlled (toggle switch).

Suspension: Global West "Negative Roll" performance handling kit (w/ grease-able De-Alum bushings in front upper control arms and rear lower arms) with Global West "Street" coil springs and Tokico performance gas (blue) shocks. Large "Big Block" 1. 25" front sway bar. 17 X 11 Centerline Champ 800 billet alloy wheels with 315/35ZR17 tires. AGR Performance steering box w/ matching pump.
All original steering linkage. idler arm. ball joints. tie-rod ends. U-joints. and lower control arm bushings. have been replaced with quality after market parts (i. e. Moog) and synthetic greased each season when car is licensed. The only rubber bushings remaining are in top links of read end. All others replaced with Energy Suspension polyurethane (including sway bar and body mount bushings). Awesome handling! (disclosure: tires tread is getting low. time to replace soon. Due to the wide tires. the passenger side front tire rubs on inner plastic fender liner over some large bumps and full right turns. such as when parking. and has worn thru the inner plastic fender liner in a small area. )

Brakes: upgraded to larger "Police" 12" disks (F) and 11" drums (5 on 5 bolt pattern). Willwood adjustable brake proportioning valve. and stainless steel braided hoses. D. O. T. 5 fluid. Note that the parking brake does not work (missing pedal assembly and cable need replacement).

Rear End: GM 12-bolt posi w/ 3. 08 gears. This is a great combination with the 700R4 for drivability and performance (18 mpg avg. highway). I tried 3. 73 gears. but went to the 3. 08 a year later and love it.

Exhaust: Headman 3/4 length headers. full length true 2 1/2" dual exhaust. w/cross over. Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers. and stainless steel tips. Looks and sounds great.

Interior: 4 speaker stereo. 160 watt amp. AM/FM/ CD. with USB input (for MP3 audio) and AUX jack. Full gauge package: tachometer. oil pressure. vacuum. and temperature (engine. trans. and rear end). Black plush carpet and white vinyl interior panels + rear seat cover. window handles. trim plates (all recently new). ProCar "Rave" reclining. adjustable racing seats. RCI  3-in. 5-point safety harnesses (cam lock on driver's side. lever on passenger)). 6-point roll cage with swing-out cross bar for rear seat access. B&M QuickSilver shifter.

Body: Straight and rust free body. New paint and interior renewed a couple of years ago ($15. 00 receipts) and then stored until this summer. Recent paint work included replacement of two new doors. front windshield. fiberglass cowl hood. new/restored nearly all chrome and stainless exterior trim pieces). new window felts. weatherstrip. and all rubber bumpers / body plugs. Has had previous frame-off restoration ( 1998. incl. 2 new GM fenders and trunk replacement panels). Kept indoors for most of its post restoration life w/ car cover. Paint is excellent. but has a couple of minor scratches (1 ea. drivers door. drivers fender). no chips on front. (Drivers door has recently become difficult to open by outside handle. but does work sometimes. and always opens when using inside handle).

Other: Trunk mounted battery. alarm. custom 2" trailer hitch receiver w/ 7-pin trailer connector and electric brake controller (was previously used to tow a 22' travel trailer for a couple of camping trips). Good quality synthetic lubricants always used in drive train (engine. trans. rear-end. and all grease fittings). This car does not have a mechanical fuel pump installed. it has a Carter electric fuel pump (replaced with new one in 2012) and a large cartridge fuel filter mounted just in front of fuel tank. There is also a Holley fuel pressure regulator in the engine bay to regulate the fuel pressure.

Built and cared for by the same family for past 25 years.



This car is fast and fun. yet quite practical. It runs about 2. 00 RPM at 75 mph and gets decent fuel mileage (about 18 on highway trips) on 92 octane fuel.
